My husband and I recently spent a night here for a much needed getaway. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted by the hosts, shown around the place, and shown to our room. We were astounded by the beautiful house and grounds, and the decorating fit the property perfectly. We stayed in the Moondance Suite which was upstairs and perfect in every way. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in, the whirlpool was very comfortable and large, and the fireplace in the sitting room added a homey (and warm!) touch. The bed & breakfast is situated very close to town, so it was easy to find places to eat and hike, and there are several beautiful wineries situated close by as well. Kathy was extremely friendly and helpful with suggestions, but also knew when to leave you alone. There is a great selecgtion of DVD's and books that you can take to your room. The trails on the grounds are also beautiful, with lots of lovely places to sit. Would love to return in the summer when it is a bit warmer! The breakfast was AMAZING! We started off with poached pears, then homemade berry muffins, and finished with a wonderful quiche, turkey bacon and potatoes. Everything was delicious, and we didn't need to eat lunch that day. Included in the stay were passes to hike at the Mohonk Preserve, which is one of our favorites. Even though it was late fall, the day was sunny and we had a beautiful hike. I would highly recommend Moondance Ridge for a special getaway. It was a perfect, romantic and relaxing time.

This is my second stay with the delightful Kathy Drew at her wonderful and elegant Moondance Ridge, and I can't wait to return. Her warmth carries over into the rooms, each an individual experience meant to transport you away from your troubles and calm you, body and soul. Kathy serves a terrific breakfast (pumpkin waffles anyone? YUM!!), and she has great ideas about where to go in the area and how to best enjoy your stay. I stayed in the Starry Night room - glam photos of Jean Harlow, whirlpool tub with aromatherapy, the bed a little piece of heaven, and a nice lounging area. Whether you are a city dweller looking for a getaway, a couple in love, or folks visiting kids at SUNY, this place is absolutely top shelf, bar none. I wish I had booked rooms for the holidays! How divine to leave all stress behind and just enjoy the holidays at Moondance, with its beautiful Christmas tree & menorah, its delightful house pugs, and oh the warm chocolate chip cookies. Don't hesitate to visit Moondance Ridge - you will be welcomed and leave renewed. Moondance Ridge and Kathy just have little extra something that is worth every penny.

My husband and I love taking a weekend getaway trip to New Paltz every now and then. Moondance Ridge provided the perfect escape! It's situated right by town, so it's convenient to get to both restaurants and hiking trailheads. The hosts are very friendly, especially Kathy. We stayed upstairs in Dream Catcher and loved the windows and design of the room. Each room has slightly different decor, and it is clear that there is a lot of attention paid to the details.

For breakfast, Kathy makes a fruit dish (baked apples, baked pears), then a main course (pumpkin waffles, quiche). She has a healthy bent on her dishes, so don't expect real bacon -- turkey bacon instead (which is quite good!) She also makes the most amazing blueberry muffins! In the afternoon, she bakes a snack (cookies, brownies, etc.) She also has apples and granola bars for your hike.

The only cons I can think of -- the B&B is a bit hard to find, there isn't a large sign, so it's easy to miss in the evening. Also, the couple next to us brought their dog (I don't know if dogs are allowed here?), and it was barking all morning. And of course, the rooms are not cheap, but worth it for a nice weekend.

Definitely recommend this B&B! Book early! We'll be back next year for sure.

My husband and I stayed here over Columbus day weekend to celebrate our anniversary. The rooms are on the higher end, but you do get what you pay for. We looked at some others in the area that were slightly less expensive and they just didn't seem to compare. Moondance Ridge bed and breakfast is on lovely grounds and surrounded by lush forest. The rooms are simple and nice, with a comfortable bed, a whirlpool bath (with jets! amazing!) and a t.v. with dvd. Kathy has an assortment of cds you can listen to in your room and an amazing number of recent movies, plenty to watch in the evening. The breakfasts are huge and absolutely delicious and Kathy and her husband are a pleasure. They know exactly when to come over and say hello and ask how you are, but let you enjoy a private and peaceful breakfast every morning. Kathy is sweet and friendly and we enjoyed our stay here immensely.
