This is your typical beach motel. It is NOT a Hilton or a Marriot. It "MONTAUK" ... For that I suggest Gurneys.. Have been going to montauk all my life....all 45 years from infant to now with my own family. The atlantic terrace is by all means not a quiet place. Its a FUN family vacation party! It is not a quiet romantic getaway it is a noisy, family, friends the more the merrier type of vacation. This is the place to be! It is a great deal for your money considering you are ON the beach AND it has a pool. If you are looking for quiet, fancy, upscale like a hilton....perhaps montauk is not the place. Close beach getaway family & friends party vacation with ALL the kids! Woopwoop!

I am a frequent traveler and have stayed in many different types of hotels. Being used to Hilton and Marriot chains this is a horrible place to stay at and I am glad I did not have my kids with me. Here is what happened.

I reserved the Atlantic Terrace hotel for 2 nights originally August 30 and 31st. I had to change the dates due to hurricane Irene messing up other travel plans. Right away the hotel was rude and charged us more for changing the dates. We arrived at the hotel on September 3rd for 2 nights. The hotel was very dirty inside, not as promised. After a 2 night stay we were pulling our hair out because we could not sleep either night. The people staying next door were shooting off illegal fireworks right in front of the motel door. They were very loud all hours of the night such that you could not sleep. After multiple times of trying to contact the front desk someone finally told them to leave at around 1 AM and they left for about an hour and then came back. This is a 4 person room and there were about 10 kids staying in there. A manager promised to call us even as we checked out but no one called. After multiple attemps no one cared and I would never stay at this hotel. If I had my kids with me I would have also called the POLICE. Perhaps I should have done so.

We also have burns due to the water temp of shower going from cold to hot on it's own.

Other than the fact that this motel is right on the ocean it would be a cheap 50$ a nite motel. Beds are like rocks- nothing on the walls for ambiance- small- smaller bathrooms-

the place itself is rundown and musty and nothing to be excited about...however...the location is excellent! .....right on the ocean!
basically its a motel on the ocean....
three pluses-the town is within walking distance , the breakfast/lunch cafe run by steve and his family is a nice convenience! and there is a nice outdoor pool
