Lakeside Inn is newly renovated by a young couple from Brooklyn. The idea of modern decor on the lake setting is wonderful. It seems however, that they have run out of money to fund their idea. Our room had a beautiful bathroom and shower. The bed was a tempurpedic or equivalent. The view through the double sliding glass door is so peaceful.
On the down side the fron window to our room had a cloth stapled to it to block the light from the parking cars. A loud couple next door easily penetrated the paper thin walls with their argument.
The worst part about the stay is that I've been over charged. At 150 a night, the room was already overpriced. However, when one stays at Lakeside you put a deposit down towards your stay and that deposit goes towards your total bill for your stay. In my case I was charged 200 for the deposit and 350 for the stay.
So two nights in a sub par room cost me 550 bucks. I've been in touch with the management and they keep saying they are reversing the charges. Here it is over four months later and I have to eat the 200 bucks. American Express only allows disputes of charges within 60 days.
At this point I would recommend you stay away from this place due to the lack of respect I've been paid. The idea is fantastic and I get what they are going for. But bottom line is that they are a customer service entity not a modern interior design firm.
