wonderful family place, awesome pool, small but nice balcony overlooking the pool and great view of the ocean, rooms were clean and efficient, bonfires on the beach at night if you want, very short walk to town, will return every year if we can. lovely lovely lovely

It was the first time I travelled as far as Montauk and of course the beach was incomparable to what we have back home, but the Ocean Surf was not a disappointment. From the time we checked in Vinny was very accomodating and helpful during our stay. The beachfront room was just what i needed for my vacation! The room was clean and fully equipped. I may be spoiled from all the luxury I get from working for an international hotel chain, but Ocean Surf gets a thumbs up from me especially when I saw the bathroom! =) Yup! I'm a bathroom freak! As long as the bathroom is clean you are good! i would suggest to bring your own cutlery although they have them available in the room, but in case you want to use them just bring your own cleaning agent. =)

If you want calm waters then you won't find it here, Water was rough and the tide can get really far so you have to prepare for possibilities of getting your things wet! Stay as far as you can so you're sure to be dry! =) Happy to see a clean beach and a place where you can get all the privacy you want.

Ocean Surf has a good location where places to eat, supermarket etc are very accessible by foot. If you want to drive and check out other places i highly recommend Fishbar and Gosman's. Breakfast at Anthony's a must! Ice Cream at John's the best! (i think it will be best for me to make a separate review for the restaurant's I mentioned. =)

Do wake up for the sunrise! it's worth it! =) Find time to visit Montauk Lighthouse! =) On your way back do swing by Duck Walk vineyards and try the Pinot Meunier and Aphrodite. Went to Wolffer but was disappointed because the service was too slow! Decided to leave since I do not waste my time for places that offer poor service! =D

The Ocean Surf calls itself a resort. Not. But it is clean, has a well kept pool and is right on the beach but an easy two block walk into Montauk shopping and restaurants. Ocean Surf is difficult to explain. Basically, they give you your keys and then you never see the management again. No need because there are no services, not even phones in the room. It is clean. It tends to be a little seedy - carpets are adequate and need refreshing. On our first night there, we turned on the hot water and there was literally no water. We went to the desk and the sent someone up in two minutes who changed the shower head. (Makes you wonder about the people there before.). However, it took twenty five minutes for the water to get hot at 6pm ("Be patient, that is when everyone showers). It was fine after that.

We would go back, because it is right on the beach and nothing beats going to sleep with the terrace door open and listening to the sound of the surf. It is probably the most expensive of the three or four hotels right on the beach in Montauk and you won't get a lot for the money but it is clean and just steps from the pool deck to the beach. I think this would be a great hotel for those traveling with kids.

We have been staying at Ocean Surf for over 15 years and love it. My husband and i were even married in Montauk in 2000. We continued to come to Ocean Surf even when it changed owners to Vinny and Newton (two of the nicest people you will ever meet) We started out with just my husand and I, then came our son Aidan (2004) and then our daughter Brielle (2007). Every year we have a great time during our annual stay
in Montauk. the people in the community are great. In 2008 two other couples and their kids joined our annual vacation to montauk. we are now 6-7 families that come each year. With our most recent trip to Ocean Surf just last week, we had beautiful weather and a great time. Can't wait until next year!!!!
