To be fair, I did not, and will not ever, stay at this Inn. And here is why:
I had spoken with the proprietor, Ginny, months prior to our reservation about some possible dates. When the time came to confirm, I was busy on a job and so my friend called to book it, which was done in her name.
Two days prior to traveling, my friend was busy, and asked me to call and inquire about the details of our late check-in. Upon speaking with Ginny, I was told that she would put the keys in an envelope and tape it to the office door. I thanked her and we hung up. But then, upon thinking, I became concerned. We were taking a bus three hours from home to this Inn. What if there was a problem and the key wasn't there? Of course I hoped this would not be the case, but I called back to ask if there was an emergency number that I could call in the event that there was a problem.
In response to this question, I received a two-minute tirade about how that would be her home number and she didn't want me calling her at midnight. I tried to explain that I had no intention of calling her at midnight, I just wanted to know where to call in the event there was a problem. To this I was told that she would leave a key for my friend only because that is who made the reservation. And then she hung up.
While the reservation may have been made in the name of my friend, 50% of the $330 per night rate was going to be paid by ME. I had never been anything but pleasant and respectful to this owner who spoke to me with such vitriol and indifference that I could not possibly justify supporting her business.
So sure, maybe it's a charming inn. Perhaps it is clean. It is definitely in close proximity to the beach, but I wouldn't recommend going there unless you like your accommodations with a smattering of verbal abuse.
