I recently stayed at the Lido. The sleeping area of the room was clean. Later in the day when I went to use the bathroom I noticed there was an odor. There were cob webs in the corners by the window with the air conditioner and in the bathroom. I also noticed that bugs were getting into the room by the air conditioner there was a gap that you were able to feel the breeze from outside that is where the bugs were coming in to the bathroom area. The bathroom does need updating and removal of mold between the floor and the shower stall area you can see there was some type of water damage around the stall area. The motel was quiet busy so maybe all the rooms did not have the issue that mine had.

I always say when you rent especially a room look at the room as if you were to stay there. Is the room up to the high standards as your own home?

“Nice place for the money”

A group of moms and kids stayed at the Lido Resort in Montauk in August 2011 and had a very nice time. Patty, the owner, is extremely nice and helpful. We were able to book 3 rooms for a one night stay which is very unusual for August. The motel is located in town about 5 blocks from the beach. It is very quiet which is exactly what we were looking for.
The rooms are small and so is the bathroom. However the rooms were clean, had a mini fridge and flat screen TV. Our rooms had 2 double beds and a dresser. The AC worked fine. Since we were there for only one night, we didn't use the dressers or closet. There is a small pool with lounge chairs and a few tables. The outside grounds are cute, with picnic tables, BBQ grills and hanging plants. Patty came to check on us the next morning to see how the moms and kids were doing. We could easily have stayed a few more days.
I liked the location of the motel as we were right in town. We were able to walk to dinner and breakfast the next morning.
For the price, I think that the Lido is one of the best values in Montauk.

Thank you for a very nice review. I do need to point out though that the Lido is only 2 short blocks to the beach, not 5. I believe when your group arrived, you drove over from a different beach ( by Slopy Tuna) and that is why it seemed longer then the short walk just outside the motel.

Patti and Jim were excellent hosts.The rooms are nice and clean.The lido is reasonably priced and within walking distance to the beach ,town and many restaurants. The pool is great for families after a day at the beach.We cant wait to return next year. Stephen R.

Montauk is a fun town and you do not need to stay in the fanciest place. The Lido is just the right place to go. The location is great for the beach or town. You don't have to get in your car if you don't want to. The rooms are great and clean, we had a kitchette which was prefect for quick meals. You can really get a fun vacation there and not have to spend the big bucks! Quiet, relaxing, fun, beach, pool, town just a quick walk away, there's everything you need at the Lido Motel.

“One of the best ever”

The Lido is a gem, it is clean, priced right, and the owners are easy to work with.

Our kids loved the pool and the proximity to the beaches. The stores are all in walking distance.

We are planning on making this a yearly trip...
