We've stayed at this hotel several times (at least three times before--twice in December, another time in the summer), since we have some family in the area. We never really minded before since the rates were much cheaper, but this last stay was unpleasant, mainly because of the price point, room decor, and most of all, service.
Rate: $190/night, wwith taxes. This as already negotiated rate since we were in town for a wedding, but we found it slightly ridiculous that a hotel in Horseheads would charge so much. (For a little more, you could get a room at the Four Points by Sheraton in Manhattan!)
Parking: Several spaces available.
Check-in: Quick. Stale cookies at the desk.
Room: There are no rooms with king beds in this hotel--all rooms have two queen beds. There are country touches everywhere, including potpourri on the walls.
Bathroom: Dark and dated. The amenities included a hair dryer and some toiletries.
Breakfast: There are cereals, some fruit, juice, and a waffle maker available in the morning. Guests help themselves.
Cleanliness: On the two nights we stayed, the maid did not clean our room. We put a "do not disturb" sign on the door on the day of the wedding as we were getting ready and told the front desk that the room could be made up when we left but it never was.
Post-stay: We reviewed the hotel and the manager got back to us and asked why they received such poor marks. I told them about the incident above and they said there was a misunderstanding on the part of the hotel housekeeper. That was the only explanation they gave us.
