A clean, modern hotel, perfectly located at the intersection of two major roads between the Shawangunk Mountains, the Walkway-Over-the-Hudson, and the many other attractions of the historic Hudson Valley, has no profitable reason to be kind to locals in dire straits. Other than word of mouth, that is. But when my husband and I were flooded out of our home for six weeks, the Super 8 in Highland was one of the biggest blessings we found. The manager, Jennifer, recognizing our moment of need, was so compassionate and went above and beyond to help us, giving us a lovely room, with windows looking out into the expanse of trees behind the hotel. The amenities are modern; the floors and bathroom are incredibly clean; there is adequate, well-lit parking, windows that open with screens, a quality a/c-heat-fan system, and adequate space for our many belongings. To add to the comforts, they have cable with HBO, free wi-fi (great quality too!), and a nice Continental breakfast. In comparison to other hotels on the same scale, the Super 8 in Highland is head and shoulders above all others. And they’re pet friendly. What a perfect Hudson Valley hotel to serve our many tourists to Ulster County. Jennifer is an amazing manager who provides excellent customer service and her leadership shows throughout the entire hotel. We are truly grateful to the staff at the Super 8 and will continue to recommend this hotel to our friends and family.
