The accommodation, the people, the game drives, the food, were all above expectations.
Worth recommending any time.
As explained, the game in the Karoo is scarcer than in many other reserves, but the ranger was well-prepared and we had good sightings of elephant and 2 lions at their kill - together with several jackals.

Room tip: All the rooms are great, with private decks and a great view. Large windows in the bathroom.

We stayed 3 nights at this wonderful lodge and it exceeded all our expectations. Fantastic, friendly staff, great food & wine, brilliant accommodation and the most amazing views from the balcony of the lodge.
Games drives are well organised and the guides are very knowledgeable and experienced (was a bit cold in June, so rug up but hot water bottles and blankets were supplied) A bit out of the way but well worth the drive and difficult to leave. Highly recommend.

Room tip: Rooms are individual hut type and are excellent

Don't be put off by the long drive on gravel roads to visit Kuzuko as when you arrive you won't want to leave. We did actually think about turning the car around at one stage as it was an AVIS hire car and probably not meant for this type of road. A 4-wheel drive no problem, but an Audi...! It had rained a couple of weeks ago so the roads were worse than usual apparently. Having said that, I am glad we persevered because what a surprise when we arrived. 5-star everything from the beginning of our stay to the end. Thank you to all of the staff who made it so memorable for us, particularly Matthews and Jonathan, our safari rangers. Also a huge compliment to the chef for his creative menus and use of fresh local produce. We didn't see any elephants on this trip (satellite was down, so tracking unavailable to check their whereabouts), but we saw plenty of other animals and it only makes us want to return in the near future. Because of the recent rains, the karoo flora was magnificent, particularly on the early morning safaris. I swapped one of our safari drives for a manicure/pedicure in the wellness centre as I wanted to treat myself before our long flight home - also a wonderful and relaxing experience. We were given a day pass to the main Addo elephant park on our departure but unfortunately didn't have the opportunity to use this as our time was limited. All in all highly recommended and we will definitely return - in a 4-wheel drive next time!

We had an amazing time. My wife was somewhat reluctant to visit a game park. The staff made her visit an experience not to forget. The location is breathtaking. The food is amazing with a good selection each day. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Very comfy rooms.
The sundowners out in the bush were spectacular. You felt as if you were in another world

Room tip: They are all good
