The location was great. The room was a dump. The bedroom tv had no cable & the reception was awful. It was plugged into an extention cord ( that was clumped on the floor) along with the lamp that was falling apart. The kitchen sink was duct taped. The bathroom sink & tub did't turn off. Not a drip, drizzle. The shower curtain had mildew on it. Holes in the wall. The sofa bed was never made. One sheet was left on top with a pillow, with no pillow case on it. The pics of the rooms on the website did not reflect the room we got.They should have paid me to stay there!

My wife and I, and her sisters all stayed at the Apollo August 16th thru the 21st. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay and because of the value may stay here again next year

The Good:
The Apollo had one of the lowest nightly rates in Wildwood, so it was an exceptional value. Also, it was a great location. Located right on the beach, it was a short walk for us to camp out right on the waters edge. It was convenient to be able to walk back and forth from room to beach, and the common patio area was great for grilling, hanging out and drinking. The pool was small, but it was located in a good sunny area. The staff was generally friendly though we really didn't interact with them too often. Our room was generally kept clean, though my sister in law was unhappy that her bed wasnt made every night. Our room was cool and generally it wasn't a noisy hotel.



The Bad
Parking was pretty tight. The bathrooms were cramped and no counter space. No amenities. (gift shop, coffee shop, food ect)


Overall our expectations were met and our experience was pleasant. For the price, it was worth staying here for a week. It's a beach hotel in a beach community, so if those are your expectations, then i would recommend staying here

I will never understand why visitors to Wildwood Crest get all up in arms about hotels. I consider myself a major critic when it comes to staying in hotels. In fact, I'd go so far as to say I am a snob and do not put up with anything. People need to be honest with themselves and manage their expectations. This is not West Palm Beach - this is Wildwood Crest....the home of 50's doo wop motels.

The Apollo is a wonderful hotel at a wonderdul price. In fact, I am quite familiar with many hotels and motels on the other side of the street in Wildwood Crest and they charge a lot more and are run down and dirty. First of all, this hotel is run by a wonderful family. They are all hardworking and courteous people. Many of the hotels in this area are run by some seriously angry people. Ernest at the front desk is a gem of a guy. In fact we even forgot a hair dryer and he was nice enough to lend us one.

The rooms were very clean...in fact, I would say surpriningly clean given some of the hotels and motels I have seen in Wildwood. The pool is small, but very clean. The decks and property are clean. The rooms are not run down, they are up to date. The bedspreads were clean and the beds comfortable. The rooms have a lot of space too. The best quality is that the motel is right on the beach and close to everything.

My girlfriend and I stayed in a room in the breezeway. It was inexpensive because there was no view - but it was a very cute room. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

With all the negative comments I was a little nervous about our stay but we were all very pleasantly surprised . We had a third floor ocean view efficiency. There was no smell , no bugs and the bath and kitchenette where clean and neat. It is not a new condo or luxury. apt. But it is perfec for a beach vacation.
