If you are looking for a decent motel in wildwood I would recommend the cape cod,It is very clean and everyone there does thier best to make sure you are having a pleasant stay. They have two grills, pool table,ping pong and mini golf course.It is one block to the beach but from the boardwalk to the ocean it is a long walk if your carring equipment.

It is an affordable hotel one block away from the beach. First floor accomations did not look very good (worn out), but it worked OK. A low cost solution for the not demanding families with kids.

Pros:
- Kids loved the outdoor mini-putt/ping-pong/pool area. Allowed us to get them out of the room during meal preparation...
- Pool facing south.
- King bed was very confortable
- Excellent sound proofing. We slept well even though our room was right by the main bloulevard on 1st floor.

Cons:
- EXTREMELY crowded and small parking spots. If you come back to the hotel late, you are lucky to find a spot to park your car, and it will be tiny!!! One day, I had to get out of my mini-van through the back door!!! Not sure how the other neighboring cars made out!!!
- We had a room on the first floor, and the room was rather humid with a mild smell.
- One of the person at the reception was not friendly, but fortunately, the other 2 compensated a bit.
- One of the 2 outdoor BBQs was not working well, and the not friendly person said they were too busy to help.
- AC unit was in the separate bedroom, so if ever needed to cool the living room area, then the bedroom had to be a freezer... Fortunately did not need it much.
- Balcony area is very small, so getting in/out of your room with your luggage means you almost need to ask your neighbors to go back in their room, and even then, chairs get it in the way.
- There were a lot of smokers when we were there.

My family has been staying here year after year and we really have no reason to stay elsewhere. As others have said, don't expect anything exceptional- it's a Jersey shore motel and if you don't know what that means, you might want to do a little research. You're not going to get the things you get at other hotels costing the came amount such as Hampton Inns, but you do get a two-minute walk to the beach and a fifteen-minute walk to the southern end of the boardwalk You also get a simple miniature golf course for the kids (they always seem to be able to look past it's failings and enjoy it for what it is), walls that are so thick you couldn't hear a diesel truck idling in the next room and one of the island's better motel locations surrounded by other motels- no drab, empty condo units creating a dark canyon around the building.

The bathrooms are old and small (although some have been replaced and others will be replaced for the 2012 season) but if you go for an efficiency unit, you get a kitchenette with microwave and huge fridge and front and back bedrooms, although anything more than a family of four would have a hard time staying out of its way, as is the case with all standard Wildwood motel rooms. Parking can be a bit of a pain if the motel is full and someone has inconsiderate friends occupying a parking space and the wireless internet connection is horrible, but the rooms are clean and well-maintained and the staff is friendly (not sure why others are saying they're not.)

You could spend more and get a place that's a little nicer, but as it is, the Cape Cod Inn is a very nice choice while staying in the Wildwoods.

Room was clean. The staff was rude. Room wasn't ready. Gave us wrong remotes upon check-in and try to blame us for mix-up.
