My wife and I chose this property based on the positive reviews we've read about the wonderful owners and the clean updated rooms. Overall, the reviews were quite correct. While this resort was not as large or "colorful" as some of the others on the Wildwood strip it was never the less very well maintained. The owners were very cordial, and were constantly working to keep everything organized and spotless. You could sense the pride in their facility. We spent time talking with them and found they actually lived right next store to the resort, so they were constanly aware of the needs of their facility and guests. The pool deck was always neat, and the pool itself was cleaned and vacuumed thoroughly every morning. The pool WAS just a bit smaller than most found at other hotels and tended to get really crowded during the heat of the day. Our room which was on the upper floor was modern and spotless and the maid service was very respectful and friendly. The owners told us several of their housekeepers had been with them for many years. We would suggest requesting an upstairs floor. The balcony walkway was perhaps not as well reinforced as it should have been, and the footsteps of people walking by could be felt and heard in the room. We can't imagine what the folks underneath the second floor balcony felt or heard. One of the real hassles with any hotel in Wildwood is the parking. The Mark I had plenty and we never had to search for a space. A note of caution however........if you are looking for a quiet intimate place, this might not be the hotel for you. The pool stays open until 11pm and ALL rooms face it. This is later than most hotels in Wildwood and frankly we felt it was just an hour or so too long. The hotel also seems to cater to families with young children and in the heat of the day and at night by the pool, it can get really noisy with all the young'uns splashing and yelling. On an upside, the rooms were very well insulated and once you were inside, the sound was really kept to a minnimum. The central air conditioning (a real plus....NO indvidual room units) with your own room control, was super and the kitchen contained almost everything a family could need during their stay. All the modern upgrades were well thought out regarding space and ease of cleanliness for housekeeping, yet still very functional for guests. Our room was immaculate and there was no musty smell often associated with beach hotels. If you want to rent bikes while you're there, the bike rental location is approximately five blocks away (but an easy walk) right at the start of the bike path. One other note of caution....there is no elevator for those who are on the second floor and the stairs are a bit narrow. Not a difficult climb, but it could be a problem for those who are "stair challenged". We deducted one star for the late pool hours, the weak sturcture of the second floor balcony, and the extra noise but if that doesn't bother you, this is a truly wonderful little place to stay.
