We stayed at the Lotus Inn several years ago and liked everything about it except the pool. So, when we recently learned that they upgraded their pool, including installing a pool heater, we gave them another try this year. Because the pool is located on the north side of the building, it is mostly in the shade from about 1:00 PM on (especially the second half of the summer). During that earlier trip, the pool water was so cold that no one could stay in for more than a few minutes before giving up.

It was a little better, but the water was still much too cold for a pool that is in the shade much of the day. I don’t know if they were having problems with the heater or simply had the thermostat too low, but it did seem to be off or not really heating any water much of the day. When your pool is in the shade, particularly on a cooler, breezy afternoon, anything other than comfortably warm water doesn’t work. For folks like us with kids who enjoy a short visit to the beach every day, but spend more swimming/lounging time at the pool, this was a significant disappointment.

If a nearly unusable pool is not a deal breaker for you, there are lots of things to like about the Lotus. The rooms are comfortably large compared to other area motels, they offer a complimentary basic breakfast, and have a smoke-free policy that is refreshingly welcome for people like us with smoke allergies in the family. The location is good – about ¾ of a mile from the boardwalk. Just far enough to be quiet, while just close enough to walk to if you enjoy walking.

With so many other choices down in Wildwood for families that place a good pool as a high priority, it is unlikely we’d go back and try them again.

The Lotus Inn was a very clean hotel and I was very excited to be stayng there with my family for our vacation this summer. However, there was a major problem with our stay. Our room was on the 6th floor, which is the top floor. The air conditioner made this horrible noise ALL night long while we tried to sleep. For the 3 nights we were there, I did not get ANY sleep. We contacted the office and they told us all they could do is TRY to move us to another room, but there may still be a problem with the noise. So we put up with the noise and when we were checking out, we once again told them about the noise. They said that I was a light sleeper and there was Nothing they could do about it. I was very disappointed with their answer to the problem.

This was our second time staying here...the last time was 3 years ago. We stayed in a one bedroom efficiency, which was plenty of room for my family of four plus a friend of my daughters. The rooms are very clean, and the hotel is a half a block from the beach. You have to drive to the boardwalk, but that's fine with me. They have strict rules, but that's what makes it such a family friendly hotel. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to my friends.

My husband, daughter and I had a wonderful stay at the Lotus Inn. The room was terrific, well equipped and kept very clean. The carpets were even done each night! The kitchen area was great for cooking a small meal and the pots and pans and utensils were in the room already.We were right across the street from the beach and had a wonderful view. The whole hotel was kept very clean, the maintenance man never sat down....always working. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. Lori at the front desk was so welcoming to us. We will come back here again without a doubt! We highly recommend this hotel!
