“Loved this hotel!”

We recently stayed here for 3 nights and were more than satisfied! I would suggest having a car if staying here, there are lots of places close-by but not within walking distance. The concierge was excellent at helping us find fun things to do during our stay. We went apple picking and shopping at the Woodbury Commons Outlet. You have to pay for internet in room, however there is free wifi downstairs by the computer area. I called ahead and requested a room on a high floor and I'm SO glad; the views were SPECTACULAR! We stayed in a corner room with windows lining the entire side of the room. Blackout curtains allowed ample time to sleep in. Huge flat screen tv, brand new furnishings, and the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in during hotel stay. Room service and food was FANTASTIC. There are places to eat within a short drive, however we opted for room service multiple times. We had the same gentleman (Jimmy) deliver our food every night and he made sure that the morning room service knew we enjoyed our chocolate milk. We had filled out a breakfast order and hung it on our door the night before, and in the morning received a call from the kitchen asking us if we preferred chocolate milk because we forgot to specify!

Room Tip: Higher floors have spectacular views!

“They'll get you somehow”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

We stayed here for two nights around a reunion which included a dinner.

Getting to the hotel is interesting to say the least - we were not quite sure what was road and what was the drive way and nor was our GPS. In any case, it is potholed, so drive carefully.
The parking is a bit awkward and the pedestrian crossing to the hotel not well thought out.

The hotel itself is nice with a well-equipped business centre.
Our room was quite nice and quiet and reasonable value for the event-related rate we got.
We did not eat breakfast at the hotel due to the cost preferring to go to the local Panera.

Where they really got us was on the reunion dinner. Basically, not even the first drink was complimentary and the bar prices were ambitious to say the least. In addition, if you were strange enough to want wine, it came out of a half-gallon bottle. I decided not to ask for the cost and stuck to beer (they did have Yuengling!), deciding that it could notmpossibly be value for money.
The major disappointment was the food. For well towards USd 100 per person you got a buffet meal, no serving at the tables. The starters were uninteresting, the salad bar was a disgrace, the sides consisted of some very boring veg and pasta salads. 3/4 of the meat we had was totally dry, did not taste of much or nothing pleasant and was completely interesting. The turkey is best described as dry, the beef as shoe leather. The potato bar was totally uninteresting. Desserts were not exciting either and we had had considerably higher quality at West Point that same day. Over all, a very, very, very disappointing dinner which ruined the entire purpose of our stay. Do not hold your corporate events here. Note: the hotel has been given the opportunity to comment and has not bothered responding.

“Great hotel”

I stay at this hotel once a year and every year it doesn't disappoint. The heated indoor pool is a nice size and great for a winter swim. The king sized bedrooms are extremely comfortable and the flat screen tv's in each room are a nice touch. The check ins are always smooth and in my opinion the best hotel in the Mahwah area.

Room Tip: Try and get a room on the upper floors for better views of the mountains. If possible, get a room f...

“Nice Hotel. Convenient to Highway.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2011

We have stayed at this hotel often in the past because it's convenient, clean and has a good pool for the kids. Booking through Priceline may not be the route to go with this hotel. They are not accommodating at all if that's how you booked your room. But their hotel's regular price, in my opinion is a bit pricey if not booked through Priceline. The rooms are nice for $80 a night, but again, not for what the hotel is charging. They are a bit on the worn out end of the spectrum, but not awful. The pool area is great. The lobby is gorgeous (I am not sleeping there though) and my kids get a kick out of the glass elevator, which is what brings us back. No breakfast offered on the times we have stayed makes it a bit of a drag, but it's so close to 287 for us to get back to New England that we keep coming back. The beds are nice and plushy and they have plenty of pillows on the beds. Housekeeping staff is great and services the rooms nicely. It would just be nice if the the front desk folks could be a bit more accommodating even though you book through Priceline or some other cheaper online service.... It seemed to me the front desk staff was less accommodating and less respectful to customers who booked with less expensive online services. Will we come back again? Eh, probably because of that glass elevator... the kids still get a kick out of it!

Room Tip: Maybe pay top dollar for your room and you may get better customer service from the front desk.

Dear Qsmuse,

Thank you for your continued visits to our property. You're right, our pool is a great area for our littlest guests and our glass elevators are one of our most popular amenities.
I apologize you feel you weren't treated just as importantly as every other guest who stays with us. So many guests book through outside sources that it surprises me the front desk wasn't more accomodating to your needs. We value every guest and every opportunity to leave a lasting impression. I hope the next time you visit, we WOW you with our service and please feel free to ask for any Manager on Duty if something isn't perfect!

“1 night stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2011

Front desk and hotel staff amazing. Rooms average, A/C unit kicked on and off like a bull was coming through the front door. We did not come back till 10:00pm... 5 year wedding anniversary and listened to it clicking in every 25 mins. Spent time at the bar and room service so torelable... Great place without the heating/ac noise maker.

Kristinjoy1204,

I can't agree with you more; our front desk staff members are some of the best in the industry. I'm so sorry your anniversary night was disturbed by our air conditioner unit and it is definitely something I will pass along to our Engineering team. I hope you consider giving us another try as I'm positive you'll have a much more enjoyable stay!
