“Great weekend”

The resort has family activities that can occupy the entire day or the time after returning from the near-bye ski resorts. The staff went out of ther way to inform us of what was going on, cookie decorating, kid's movie, ceramic painting, etc., as well as the water park. However, the convenience of the facility and the staff making it easy to get out into town or winding down after getting back was most impressive.

Room Tip: Ask for the packages that include breakfast and the water park.

Location, Location, Location! Three big plusses to having a top resort and staff who bend over backwards to have guest's stays be the best they can! Our activities include some relaxing snow shoeing or some jostling horse rides. We are happy that your stay was great and it is true, our location cannot be beat.

When you come back you may find that some new activities are happening but the same welcoming team and address will be awaiting your families' arrival!

“Nice family place!”

We had a one night stay here in January 2012. The room was quite clean, and the staff all super nice. The style of the rooms was dark browns and golds which I don't care for, but it was nice.

The brunch was quite good, with a nice view of the mountains.
We spent the morning at the waterpark which was a blast. Very well maintained and it was not too crowded.

We would come back.

“great place, pricey but worth it! Jan. 6th-8th getaway”

NIce friendly place staff was very pleasant loved the water park. You get what you pay for as they say and Red Jacket delivers. Breakfast buffet was awesome get there early and the food will be hotter, no fault whatsoever on Red Jackets part buffets as we know can get colder faster. Omlets made to order where incredible, quite a variety of fillers and toppings plus it's included in the price of the hotel. Make sure you check your closet before leaving as we left ours filled with stuff but the staff once again delivers (literaly) and is mailing everything to us!
Wonderful stay with wife and two teenage girls 14 and 13 we will be coming back.

Room Tip: bring money outlets within two miles!!!!

Thank you for a great review and sharing that we are a value beyond just a rate and room hotel! Our new Chef Christian recieved your feedback on buffets also and you will find that our new buffets in 2012 have the best of the past plus piping hot new items to boot.

Your welcome on the lost and found returns, it is commonplace to miss a few items after leaving the resort finding that Judy our Houskeeping Manager would mail it home in a jiffy.

We hope you had quality time with your two teenage daughters and have some fun planned for summer '12 when you come back and celebrate their making the honor roll.

“Would have been perfect if there were teen activities”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

I brought my family, which includes a teenager (and his friend), and an elementary-aged child to the resort. My husband and I, and our younger daughter, loved it. She enjoyed the water park very much, in particular. I do wish there was an option for half-day at the water park, or even by-the-hour. We got to the hotel after a long day of skiing, but it was expensive to pay for a full day at the water park to just use it for an hour or two. Parents (as spectators) are also charged, which I find excessive, since we were not swimming or using the water park in any way, other than to supervise our daughter. It would be nice to have a pool to use for registered guests who don't want to be in the water park as well.

We chose one of the loft rooms, which was great for the two older boys. We had plenty of space, and our room was much more up-to-date than some of the other reviews would have led us to believe. The beds were nice and firm, no sagging. The rooms well-heated.

We dined at Champeny's for an evening prime rib buffet, and a morning breakfast buffet. Both meals were good, but nothing extraordinary. A bit more money than I would have liked to have spent, but definitely reasonable.

One thing that this resort is sorely lacking is something for teenagers to do. Plenty for adults/families, and lots for younger kids, like the water park, the arcade, Wii tournament, games in the lounge, etc. And there's a bar area for adults. But there's nothing for teens to do, who are a little too old to be in the water park (which closes at 10 on the weekends), and too young for the bar. My son proclaimed it, "The most boring hotel ever!". A space for a teen nightclub area would be great. Music, dancing, a spot for them to hang out. The bonfire had the potential to be cool, but it was very small, and not true bonfire, really just a small campfire.

In all, I'd rate this hotel 4 stars. The service was great (the front desk brought towels and a corkscrew up within five minutes of a phone call). The room was great, and just what we needed. The food was good. The water park should have alternative pricing options. If there was a spot for teenagers, I would rate five stars. As it is, I don't think we will return, at least not with my son. We would try to find a resort that is more teen-friendly.

We enjoyed the visit report on your last stay, thank you for writing! We appreciate the four star rating regarding our staff! We constantly unveil new activities and programs for our guests. Some choose to have a peaceful walk around our Pudding Pond and some choose the WII Dance! This year we have unveiled some weekends with Family Dance DJ Judy and our Lil Lifeguard certification at the Water Park - Bored is not in our dictionary!

Thank you again for staying and I hope to see your family back up with straight A's and an eagerness to perhaps ride our Horse and Buggy around the resort!

Again Happy New Year and see you soon!
