My sister and a friend invited me to join them for 2 day get away at Merrill Farm. Initially. I declined but changed my mind and was happily delighted with our stay. The large, rambling main building has a unique set up - we weren't simply confined to a single room. It was especially nice in the morning when we could leisurely make our way to the breakfast room without going outside, and then enjoy the ambiance of a country style inn. The game room was appealing as well, where we enjoyed a couple of hours of trivial pursuit. We all looked forward to "cookies and warm cider" in the later afternoon. This was a cozy, relaxed setting with country charm that I hope to visit again!

My sisters and I were spending a shopping weekend in North Conway. We booked online thinking it was a four star resort. We were placed outside the main inn it what only can be called a small strip motel that hasn't been updated since the 70's. It was a small darkly paneled room with bedspreads that were old and tired. Our nice overnight at an "inn" was very disappointing. We asked at the desk and were told that you had to request a room in the inn or that they can put you in any of their buildings. I wish we had known this before we booked. Make sure you know what you are getting!

When I looked at the pictures of the resort on their website, it looked very cozy with a "homey" feel. When I reserved the room over the phone, the woman insured me that I would be in a room with a queen, double bed and a pull out bed. When we got there, we didn't have the pull out bed and our room looked nothing like the rooms in the pictures. It was a simple room like you would find at any cheap motel, but for the price of a bed and breakfast. Our blow dryer didn't work, there was no internet access unless we walked over to the main building and there was no DVD player in the room, unlike what their website advertised was in every room. In order to watch a movie, we had to call the front desk who sent the repair man to replace our outdated TV in order to set up the DVD player. I would choose to stay elsewhere if I were to return to North Conway.

If you are looking for something other than cramped 2 bed motel fir your family this is a great alternative. It is an older farmhouse with great character and an addition with quaintly decorated, comfortable spacious rooms. Breakfast service is continental self serve (cereal, oatmeal, bagels etc. with plenty of good food to feed the kids and start the day. Loved being in the river to swim and take out canoes- free!
Everything very clean. Loved the chic chip cookies and lemonade upon return home in afternoon. Can smell them cooking and they come out hot so not sure about other complaints about "staleness".
All in all a good bargain for families looking for reliable place to stay in heart of N Conway area.
