“Wonderful Stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We stayed two nights here end of Jan and it was way better than I expected. Not that I was expecting terrible but from hear say from others who have been to RENO verses Vegas. We went to Reno to snowboard not to gamble! This hotel is I think fairly new and a little ways from downtown area that I guess was the original RENO hangout? Hotel is huge, gorgeous, clean, and staff was wonderful! This was our first trip Reno and definitely wont be our last.

ROOM: We had a KING SUITE - BIG, CLEAN, and OMG the bathrooms were AMAZING! Probably the best bathroom we have stayed in... we typically stay in higher end Resorts in Mexico, Jamaica, Vegas, etc. It's huge. We will definitely stay here again and for longer. If I had to mention anything negative about the room it would be the very pricey snack bar & fridge in your room and the sensors! We would have liked to use the fridge for our items but it was packed full of very pricey items that had attached sensors on them... if you touched them you were automatically charged. It made for some pretty funny laughs and maneuvers to be sure nothing in the snack bar was touched... but really that was no bother - just thought the sensors were hilarious! And the room was a little too dim for me... This coming from someone who lives for Natural Light! Even with every lamp on it was pretty dark.. Made it a little difficult to get ready but there is a great vanity area in the HUGE bathroom that was perfectly lit and included a FLAT SCREEN to watch while bathing and getting ready too.. very nice!

FOOD: CAFE MILANO was great. We arrived after 9pm and it was the only place open and it open for 24hours. You won't be disappointed. We had BLT w/salads -- YUMMY! Huge portions and decently priced!

We (I) really wanted to try the BIMINI STEAKHOUSE - but my husband did a little research and found that Ruby's Steakhouse right across the street was rated higher and with better prices. It was hands down the best Fillet Mignon & Prawns we've had. Can't wait to go back and eat there again. Now this really is in no way bashing Bimini's because it has great reviews too we just went just went with Ruby's because the pricing was a little better!

That's really it. If you're debating this place, Stop! Go! It's great!

Casino was awesome - again we're not big gamblers but the place was huge. Could careless for the smoking but we were able to find a nonsmoking area hidden ( could not tell you how to get there now) but just ask someone will direct you there. It was a great little bar/casino area with no smoking at all! Much needed!

“Fantastic Over-night Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

My brother, sister and I headed over the mountain from California for a night in Reno. We stayed at The Peppermill in the Tuscany Tower. One room was a single king, sporting a separate living space with couch and flat screen. The other was the same spacious size with 2 queens. Both had generous bathrooms with a jet tub, and a double-headed shower. The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Room service around 3 am was prompt. While it is a fare distance from the rest of the "strip", there was no shortage of entertainment and none of us considered going anywhere else. The only thing I didn't like about it was the distance of the Tuscany Tower from the Casino floor. It's easy to get turned around after drink #5. Looking forward to returning soon!

“Comfortable room with a view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

It all seemed a little gawdy to start with but after a few days, you really can get used to being in a faux mediteranean resort.
The room in the Tuscany tower was very comfortable. We had a little garden area with loungers, over looking the pool. As it is Winter (minus snow), it was a little cold to make use of.
The bed, comfortable. Nice little table with plenty of chairs enabling you to sit somewhere other than the bed.
The bathroom with large double vanity. Lovely shower and spa bath was super! Dimming lights through out the room.
Internet access was good but a little slow at times. My only other gripe about the room was at the weekend when it was busier, we could smell smoke coming from the hallways and it was pretty noisey at times all through the night, unless you close door closest to the hallway (a second door shared between two rooms).
Gym very good with plenty of machines and weights. Nice changing rooms with showers and a steam room.
I thought peopel were mad swimming outside in one of the open pools but after learning that they are geothermally heated, it seemed a better idea. The only trouble was getting to the pool in the cold weather. Once in, the water was great. Getting out was worse! The only problem with leaving the pool in the Winter is there doesn't seem anywhere to change other than making your way back to the room, gym or spa (if you are using it). Not a big problem though.
The Toscana Spa is beautiful. I used the womens area. It is so comfortable with big soft robes in lockers for use. Tea, coffee and other beverages with some snacks available too.
The treatments offered are varied. All competitively price as far as hotels go. The luminous facial and neck, back and shoulder massage expertly given by therapists.
We ate at a few of the resturants in the hotel. My favorite was the Bimini. Not the best ever though for steaks. I wouldn't eat by choice at the resturants there. A little high priced for the standard of meal.
The casino is just as you expect a casino to be. I do wonder when there will be a no smoking law put in place. It is pretty awful if you are not a smoker.
There is a business center available but they charge for internet use and copies. Helpful staff in there though.
All in all, a big hotel that is comfortable and has nice amienities.

“New Years at the Peppermill”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

Stayed the new years weekend at the Peppermill. Our room was on the 7th floor in the Tuscany Tower. Everything in the room was first class. Only thing missing was a terry robe and slippers; otherwise, it truly is a four star hotel.
