Hubby and I stayed separately at Venetian (a week apart) for a bachelor/bachelorette trip.
Her Review:
Stayed in the Venetian Towers (whatever the separate area is). Check in was very accommodating, and gave the group of us connecting rooms, which was great for a group of girls needing to share clothes, makeup, and bathroom space! We felt very safe with multiple security people checking for our room key to make sure we were guests, but it wasn't invasive. There is a more 'quiet pool', which was nice to access. Of course, the primary pool was more loud and sun chairs were quickly occupied. Tao Beach had a fun party atmosphere, but the pool itself in there is the size of a postage stamp! Rooms were spacious (again, travelling with a group of girls- needed the space!), bathrooms gorgeous and well lit. Spent a night at Tao nightclub with bottle service - one of the best party atmospheres on the strip, but the dancefloor can be packed to the point of discomfort. Crazy long lineups (1-1.5 hour wait) unless you had a special VIP pass. Continental breakfast was a nice touch - tip - carry it back to your room, since it's usually smaller things like youghurt, croissants....lot of families, so it can be a wee bit embarrassing wearing the clothes from the night before...Walgreens is right there for snacks and drinks for the room. All in all, great experience, would go back, location is great. Only minor issue is because the resort is so huge it can take 15mins from the time you leave your room just to get to the lobby...let alone outside the resort...
His Review:
I'll try not to be repetitive of what was posted under "Hers:"
We stayed in one of the Towers. This entire property is beautiful and well-maintained, with a lot of polished marble in the lobby and casino areas. Everything is very clean.
Our room (for 3) was spacious and quite opulent. The queen-bed was very comfy, and the bathroom was spacious.
The main pool area was nice, though we did not venture into the "private party" area.
I love the location, but I prefer to stay in north-Strip properties as I know where are the little "secrets" are. As some of the guys on this trip were on a budget, we took advantage of the food courts beside the casino and beside the Grand Canal Shops (great for window shopping and more). Also, a short walk outside takes you to a "golden arches," a drug store for mix and munchies, and a liquor store in the Fashion Mall. We took advantage of the bus stop just outside the Fashion Mall to go to the outlet mall in the city.
I didn't care for the service at all. The front desk clerk seemed to be stifling a smirk the whole time I did business there, seeming to humor one of the "plebes" that was being indulged by staying at their hotel.
When I go to Vegas to gamble, in order I prefer sports book, slots, tables. As we were there in August, all I had in the sports book was baseball and pre-season NFL (neither of which were appealing) and the ever-present horses, so I never used their book. However, I was disappointed with the non-existent comped drink service in the slots era where we played; in fact, we quickly said "-- this" and went to Harrah's, because the drink service there was exponentially better.
I'd stay here again because of the luxury and location, but not to hang around.
