“A Great Letdown”

I've been visiting Las Vegas for years and have always wanted to stay at the Bellagio. As I was travelling with my partner I took the plunge as I was looking for a very upmarket "last night". I was sadly disappointed.

Whilst the hotel itself is very grand and imposing, with the most delightful lobby and public areas, the room was extremely disappointing, although far from being a bargain.

Reception staff were polite and courteous, if perhaps a little aloof, and we were assigned a room in the Spa Tower (which is at the back of the hotel). Although enquiring whether we could have anything overlooking the fountains (I appreciate that this would most definitely be an upgrade situation) it was pretty clear that nothing was going to be offered, either on a complimentary or paid basis, in spite of their being a low occupancy level.

It was a long way to the lifts and whilst I would have to say that room was clean and comfortable, it was relatively small and gloomy, with a less than impressive view towards the freeway. For the price paid, I expected a significantly higher quality and my expectations built over the years, came crashing down.

It was disappointing to learn that the outdoor pool and jacuzzi had closed at 16:00 and if we wanted to use the hot tub in the spa, this would be an additional $40 per person. I felt this was outrageous.

Although the stay was comfortable, I will not be likely to return to the Bellagio on a future visit or to recommend it

Room Tip: The Spa Tower is a seperate building to the back and side of the main hotel. It is a ways out and is...

We had a disappointing 3 night stay in October. The room was nice but nothing out of the ordinary for the out of the ordinary price you pay in comparison with other Las Vegas hotels. Definitely watching O was the highlight for us.
So why the poor review - it came down to our check out. We had over $100 dollars of mini bar items falsely added to our account and making 4 phone calls within the US (none more than 2 minutes and one leaving a message) cost $87. I know phoning from hotels can be expensive but there is a limit. We would have been far better of using our international roaming mobile. When we questioned the mini bar amount we were told they would have to go check and it could take up to a few hours to make a decision. We had to leave and could not wait around (who could?). Luckily later they refunded the money but their indifference to our situation was pretty poor. We later sent an e-mail with another question regarding our bill which to this day has been unanswered. We will not return.

“Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

My husband and I took my brother here for his 21st birthday and our only problem with the hotel was we had ordered a birthday cake and it came 45 min. late, there were no forks, and it was the wrong flavor. They didn't make us pay for it but still, my brother doesn't like vanilla cake and raspberry filling.

And for some reason our room would not cool down, it was hot in there every night.

“Keystone Cops!!!!!”

We stayed at the Bellagio in early January. We have stayed there before and had a wonderful time, but this time we waited a very long time to check in before finally given the key to our room. When we entered the room to our great surprise there was a lady very quickly trying to cover herself with her robe. This poor lady had checked in an hour previously ( after she too had been given the wrong room but luckily had only walked in to a room full of suitcases ). Luckily this lady was very understanding and allowed us to call the front desk from her room. The clerk was apologetic and gave us another room on a different floor but of course she didn't reactivate the key and we were stuck in the lift until someone entered the lift and took us down to the ground floor. By this time at least two hours had passed since we had first checked in and we were quite annoyed. My husband asked to see the manager and after waiting another half an hour we were told he wouldn't be available to see us. We were given a room upgrade which was actually the room we had initially booked. I must say the room was lovely and the hotel is fabulous but after the total lack of service after all of these mistakes we could never stay at the Bellagio Hotel again!!!

“Excellent property all-round”

I stayed at the Bellagio for four nights in April 2011. Id always wanted to stay there because it was in my opinion it was the place to stay in Las Vegas after hearing so much about it. I was not dissapointed. From the minute i was dropped off at the front door, it was impressive, from the jaw dropping atrium to my room. Housekeeping was second to none, with two visits from housekeeping staff per day (Evening one was for bed turn-down), and it was reassuring to have security stationed at the lifts to rooms on the ground floor (had to present room key to gain access to room lifts). The room was huge but the furniture and TV were outdated, but that didnt bother me as i didnt go to Las Vegas to watch television. I would definately stay there again.
