This motel is gated except for one opening car drive along Washington Street. During the day you will probably find some homeless individuals panhandling on the street corner outside the gate. This usually ends by dark, but some night camp in a sidewalk alley a bit south on Main Street. That being said, I walked the 1/2 mile each night down to the Fremont area hotel casinos and found no safety concerns. If you have concerns, you can walk unfettered down the west side of Main. Or you can drive, because the Main Street Station casino offers free parking without validation (all other hotels offer free parking with validation). But know in advance that this motel is at a stand alone site on an industrial stretch and has no neighboring facilities except for an attached restaurant and 24 hour lounge. The motel, itself, offers few fills but you can get a small discount at the neighboring restaurant. Parking is generally ample except on Friday and Saturday evenings when locals show up at the lounge. There's a pool in the parking lot between both wings of the motel. My room had a small coffee maker, but that was about all for the amenities. My bed was somewhat soft, probably not good if you have a chronic back problem. The room key card was necessary to effectively control the air/heat, so make sure you have two. Ice and vending is on the second floor in the main building. Guests can use a stand alone computer in the lobby. Wi-fi is available. The USA Today paper is available at the front desk. As for location, as I said, the Fremont casinos are quite close as is the access to I-15 and SR 93/95. if you stay here, don't expect high quality or glamour; but I did find it clean and safe, And the proximity to Fremont makes it easy to come and go at any hour of the night.
