“Homewood Suites is my favorite hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

I called the hotel upon arrival at the airport to see when the shuttle picked up there. They dispatched a driver, Louie, within 20 minutes and I arrived at the hotel 10 minutes later around 1 PM. Even though it was before the official check-in time of 3 PM, the hotel clerk on duty was most accommodating in allowing me to check in early.

This hotel is almost new, having been built in 2008, and still looks and feels new. It has a very similar layout to most of the other newer Homewood Suites where I've stayed previously.

Pros:
- Complete kitchen with full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, sink, 2-burner stove, and microwave.
- Clean quiet rooms with flat-screen TV's with good selection of channels
- Free wired Internet access
- Free on-site parking
- Complimentary daily breakfasts are also a plus, with rotating menu items including scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles, cold and hot cereal, fruits, yogurt, and a variety of beverages.
- Complimentary light dinners Monday through Thursday only, but alas no beer and wine like most other Homewood Suites where I've stayed.

Cons:
- As other reviewers have noted, the HVAC units are rather noisy, but since I had a 2-room suite with a separate HVAC unit in each room, I used the unit in the living area during the night to minimize the noise in the bedroom.
- Depending on which way planes are taking off at the airport and if you have a room facing the airport, there is some additional noise from that, but not so much it interrupts your sleep. However, I rather enjoyed watching the planes take off and land, so it was not a concern for me.

Homewood Suites is my favorite hotel wherever I travel, and I would certainly not hesitate to stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the north side facing the airport to minimize the noise from the airport.

“Good Family hotel”

There was a free shuttle from the airport. We had to ask around to make sure we were in the right spot - the other shuttle drivers were helpful. We phoned to confirm they were coming (on our cell phone). It seems it comes maybe hourly? I would suggest phoning right away to see whether it's worth the wait. The hotel is close to the airport, so a taxi probably wouldn't be too expensive.

Front desk clerk was busy, but efficient and helpful.

Pool closes at 10 p.m., so we didn't have a chance to try it. A restaurant has its menu in the room, and delivers if you order before 10 p.m. I liked the pizza, but the rest of my family thought it was the greasiest they'd ever tasted.

Our room was not spotless - the bathroom door had something splashed on it, and some of the drawers had greasy fingerprints (maybe the guests before us had the same pizza!) In general the cleanliness was fine - just needed a bit more attention to detail.

The free breakfast was convenient and fine.

The hotel is only a 10 minute walk to the airport Car Rental, so that was very convenient for us. (Just remember to take your passports - required for us Canadians to rent our car! Oh well... an extra 20 minute walk was good for us after our pizza!)

I am pretty sensitive (migraines) to most hotel soaps' and shampoos' scents, but these were mild and fine for me.

P.S. Later in our trip, we spent one night on the Strip of Las Vegas. If I had known what it would be like, I would have returned to this quiet, peaceful spot instead, and just taken a cab or shuttle to explore the Strip. (Our Strip hotel closed its pool for winter, and we had to walk our kids through its casino to get to our rooms.)

“Vacation”

Very nice Hotel away from the strip, no gambling on site. Place was quiet and our room was spotless. We were surprised at how much room we had. The room with 2 Queen beds had plenty of extra space for wrestling with my Daughter. Separate LR/BR is great if you have a family. Room had a full size Frig, Micro and even a Stove. Plates and Silverware and 2 flat screens help make this a Gemm of a Hotel.
The front desk staff were always pleasant and helpful and the housekeeping staff were exceptional.
Breakfast was very convenient and we were pleased with the variety and it was always warm and well stocked.

“Excellent!”

We stayed here in late December for one night. Had I known it would have met our needs and been such great value I would have stayed longer.
We thought it was a great place with kids as quiet with no casinos and ideal for stlll getting into the strip with free shuttle bus to Mandalay Bay.
The rooms are lovely, really clean and look recently refurbished. We didn't use the pool or hot tub or gym but all looked good.
Breakfast was included and there was complimentary dinner. It was salad with a chicken burger. As I said, great value overall.
If I was going to Vegas again with kids I'd stay here over a hotel on the strip.
The service was excellent and friendly.

“Loved our stay at this hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

I went to this hotel with my family during New Year's eve time and the stay was great.

They provided Dinner one evening (that we know of) and was pretty decent. Their Breakfast was so busy due to hotel being full but the staff were great at refilling all the items as soon as they can. Kudos to them.

Rooms and hotel were very clean. Location was great, not close to the strip but if you have a car it is only about 1.5 miles or so to the strip. You can get onto 215 in less than 2 minutes and is 5 min to the Airport.

The best part I liked -- We wanted to go to New Year's eve but the strip will be closed for vehicles and hotels won't let you park cars if you are not a guest on the strip hotel. What do we do, pay $30 for off strip parking places (that sprang up the same day) or stay in the room. I called the hotel and they said we will drop you and pick you up all night in a parking lot at the end of the strip. Voila, we enjoyed it and had someone drive us home (ok, hotel) after we partied on the strip until 2 AM.

Couple of things I didn't like -- Wireless internet was very slow at 10kbps and when I explained this to the front desk he said 'wow, that is really slow' but didn't do anything about it. They installed some software to control tracking and have good experience for their computer users. Uniguest program was blocking every page we tried to look for shows available tonight. I explained this to him and he was like 'I will let them know' but didn't move an inch. I guess customer service wasn't his thing:)

I would recommend this place anytime. Thank You.
