“Loved Vegas and loved the Palazzo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

This was my fifth trip to Vegas and having not stayed at Palazzo before we thought we would give it a go as we had loved visiting the property on last trip. We had such a wonderful stay at the Encore only 2 years before so it had a lot to live up to.

When I checked-in they didnt have any smoking rooms in Palazzo but had availability in the Venetian. I was told they would try to get me a room in the Palazzo from the next day (7 nights in total). I wasnt very happy with this as I had specfically booked via their own website in order to try to minimise the risk of this happening. We made the walk from Palazzo reception to the Venetian guest suites (luggage would be brought over later). The rooms at the Venetian were very similar to the Palazzo and we ended up staying the one night. See my other review for Venetian

We went to the Palazzo reception the next day at 10am and as promised they had a smoking room available and were in the process of cleaning it. We were apologised to and told they had upgraded us to a strip view room. We went off shopping and our luggage was brought over to our new rooms whilst we were away.

I really like the layout of the rooms at Palazzo (compared to Encore). The sitting area is far more usable and the rooms look very large. The actual quality of the room cleaning and the furniture was better at the Encore. I also enjoyed having the wi-fi available throughout the property as my wife and I would message/talk to each other and to family back home over the internet (to keep our international roaming charges down).

Room - Very nice, looks very modern and very spacious with seperate sitting area. The bed was very comfortable and the remote control for the drapes was cool (a trend among better hotels). In total there were three flat screen TV's and there was quite a few choices of HD channels (42" in the bedroom, 32" in the sitting area and a small one in the bathroom). Bathroom was nice with two sinks and seperate glass enclosed shower (could do with more water pressure). There was also a seperate vanity unit with hair dryer.

View - We had a wonderful view of the strip and the Treasure Island hotel from our window and looking down we could see the pools. At night the view came alive and I spent a lot time looking out of the window.

Casino - Really enjoyed spending time in the casino as it was very spacious and the cocktail service was usually quite good (seemed to get better after 5pm).

Restaurants
Bouchon (Venetian) for breakfast and it was nice but it was bit of an anti-climax. I will try Morels next time.

Grand Lux Cafe - for breakfast. We ordered from the menu (not buffet) and were very impressed with the speed and quality of the food. The red velvet pancakes were out of this world!!

Sushisamba - My wife really enjoyed the sushi and we liked some of the different roll combinations

Tao (Venetian) - This was the most dissapointing meal of our whole trip, PF changs makes better chinese food and sushisamba has better sushi rolls. I'm not sure I would come back to this restaurant as there are better asian choices in the Wynn (Okado and Wing Lei are fantastic)

Nightlife - We went to Tao nightclub for the evening and it was very nice and the music was great, dance floor gets very busy (we had a great time re-living our youth)

Location - If you look for signs to the Sands bridge this will get you over to the Wynn and then another bridge for Fashion Show Mall. Walgreens is very conveniently located at the outside of the Palazzo for all your pharmacy/drink/snacks/gifts.

Ambience - Out of the two properties I prefered the ambience of the Palazzo, a little quieter and just seemed a bit plusher

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor

“pretty good for a conference hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

My husband and I stayed here while he attended a conference. The room was nice, comfortable and big, but I can't say I'd choose it again if we actually had to pay for it. We were lucky enough for this to be a company paid room to attend the conference so I can't complain. The reasons I would not stay again would only be for these reasons...

No coffeemaker in room. Really? If you stay here, bring a cheap heating element and bring your own hot beverage or you will have to dress, go to the elevator, go to the coffee shop, and pay for a 4 dollar cup of coffee. Or pay for a 20 dollar pot to be delivered. I'm not cheap, but this is ridiculous. This is common in LV hotels, (they say it is a fire law, but apparently, this is just not true) so if you get a good price, just be prepared if this is important to you. It is to us. Incidentally, I discovered, too late, that Walgreens had a hot water pot for less than it actually cost me to drink a cup of coffee for the 5 mornings we were there. Added tip - Walgreens. Right on the corner for oodles of food choices, things you forgot, and even souvenirs. I stocked up on breakfasty things .

The hotel is an addon to the Venetian to make more rooms. I had no real problems with the hotel, it just seemed stock and impersonal. But again, it is Vegas.

Pricey if we had paid the advertised rates. I'd have shopped it if we were vacationing.

Room Tip: As always, remember to stay away from elevators to avoid nonstop commotion if that is important to y...

“The Palazzo is Perfectamundo!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

We recently returned from a Delta Vacations package that afforded accommodations at The Palazzo in Vegas. I was skeptical, never having been to Vegas, but "The Hangover #1," which we watched with my sister-in-law at Christmas 2011 convinced me to go see the sights of Vegas.

I must admit, we were blown away with the elegance of the Palazzo. It has all of the fresh, bright appeal of the more expensive Bellagio, the Wynn and the Encore, but bigger rooms (suites!) and a very affordable club level that treats you like you're royalty. The Palazzo charged a $100/day/room up charge for the club level, but the value is worth it!

We enjoyed luxurious breakfasts, which meant that we could dispense with lunch . . . and simply wander and enjoy the sights all day, or linger and gamble in the luxurious casino, or walk the mall that truly makes you feel like you're in Venice (with the seemingly real-life fresco sky of an open air market). In addition, the shops at the Palazzo are all high-end, so just browsing the mall is enjoyable.

We enjoyed evening cocktail receptions every night with a buffet of heavy hors devours which were as delicious as any 4 or 5 - star restaurant. They even had several of the Venetian restaurant chefs sautéing tasty Italian pasta. In addition, the views from the club lounge are among the best along the strip!

The best part of the Palazzo, in our opinion, is the rooms. They are suites that include a living room space, bedroom space, and large, luxurious bathroom, with shower, soaking tub, and private water closet. We felt like nobility, relaxing every evening after a day among the wild and crazy sights of the strip.

Our favorite shows were Le Reve (DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW, IT IS AMAZING) and the Beatles' expose, Love! We also enjoyed the old-fashioned, but still-sensual "Jubilee," although the hotel, which houses the theatre, needs a complete makeover (on the inside).

We plan to return to Vegas again, perhaps this fall, and will stay at the Palazzo again, for sure!

Room Tip: Ask for a room that faces the strip, and on the side closer to the Wynn - and your view will be phen...

“Hope to go back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

From the moment we pulled up out front I was impressed. Check in was easy, the staff, bellman and housekeeping are very professional. We stayed on the 40th floor in a Bella View Suite. As everyone else has stated, the suites are amazing. Very large, a TV in the bathroom and a seperate water closet for the toilet.
A word of advice--ask for a humidifier for your room. Vegas is very dry and the humidifier was such a help. As we were three women staying in this suite we were a bit demanding on housekeeping but they delivered everything we asked for in a timely manner. (extra towels, glassware & toileties.)
I must say room service was horrible. I wish there were coffee makers in the room and that refridgerators did not cost $25/day. Room service--took an hour to get a pot of coffee, two bagels and two glasses of orange juice. Yes we were there over super bowl weekend and it was busy but that wasn't the worst of it. When the delivery girl dropped off our tray I noticed as she closed our door she had not brought any cream and I had even ordered extra cream. Instead of yelling down the hall I called downstairs and was told they would send her right back up. Another hour went by and still no cream. Now the pot of coffee was cold and it was 10am by now.I was very angry and of course they removed the $50 room service charge for those 5 items but did not credit me the $3 extra I had added to the bill when signing it. But that is my fault for not realizing they add 18% to the bill automatically.
I did do a bit of gambling (table games) at the Palazzo and also at the Venitian. The hotels are connected by a beautiful walkway and very nice shops. Make sure to find the little cupcake stand at the entrance to the Ventian--yummy and not too expensive! There is a grand lux cafe in both hotels but the one in the Venitian stays open later so you can grab a bite to eat after a night of gambling.
Our suite overlooked Treasure Island and it was magnificent. The show starts about 6pm and happens every 45 minutes or so. Just beautiful views!!

Room Tip: high floors are great, you get the best view. Was never bothered by hall or neighbor noise.
