“Great Place - hidden secrets - long walks!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

Just spent 3 nights at the Platinum which a friend recommended. Very nice and super relaxing hotel. The employees are extremely friendly and have a lot of good advise when it comes to suggesting where to and where not to go! Talk to Brian and Nathan!!! The Valet guys can get you almost anywhere...talk to them, not to the front desk people. It is a walk to the strip but great exercise and worth the quiet of the rooms. We really didn't mind the walk. The food is incredible!! Happy Hour in the bar is awesome and the food for breakfast is very very reasonable and the view is great! My only complaint is that house keeping could do better! We were skipped one day but not a biggie and they sent up fresh towels when we asked for them. The next day I noticed things they missed. Watch your prices through because we traveled with friends who got a bigger room and a little better price when she mentioned a price change that I had found online in an email from the hotel it's self and had taken care of prior to our visit, but they ended up getting their's cheaper when they checked in. Oh well. The TV's are old but hey I wasn't there to watch, the view from the balcony was worth watching. Indoor outdoor heated pool and hot tub was a plus. Would I stay again? Maybe... only due to location...if not for location definitely!! This will sound funny but the elevators were awesome, there is nothing worse than waiting and waiting for an elevator and we never had too!! :) Front desk also very nicely let us check in early and offered a late check out!!

Room Tip: Watch for specials, check all rates on the hotel's website and don't hesitate to call back f...

“Wonderful hotel and staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

I am giving this hotel an excellent based on the quality of room you get for the money and great staff. First off, you are only a 10 minute walk from the strip and you end up at Ballys when you get there. The staff was always helpful and we really liked that we received a call about 15 minutes after we were in our room. This gave us enough time to unpack and realize we had some questions and viola a call from the staff wanting to know if there was anything we needed. The room was large and had a comfortable bed. We enjoyed cooking our breakfast. We also went to the Stir Lounge for happy hour. We found the appetizers to be yummy and the happy hour price was just right (1/2 off). I cannot say enough about the staff. They always seemed to want to make sure we were happy. The guys who get your car for you whenever you want are quick and also genuinely wanted to know if they could help us with directions or anything that we needed. Actually we felt like they knew us and cared about us when we were only there for 2 days. Forgot to add that the rooms were very quite and we were very near the elevator. Didn't miss being on the strip!

Room Tip: our floor was the 14th facing the strip. loved it.

“Fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

We purposefully wanted to stay in a reasonably priced non-casino, non-smoking hotel that was near the strip, and selected the Platinum based on price and Trip Advisor reviews. What a great find for our recent 3-night stay in Vegas! The service was impeccable, from check in, to the phone call after we arrived to make sure the room was alright, to the friendly greeting every time we walked in the door.... each and every employee was enthusiastic, friendly and caring.

The room itself was excellent -- clean and spacious enough for 3 adults. The room was shockingly quiet for Vegas. Although our friend said the pull out mattress was not very comfortable, the king bed in the bedroom was wonderful! We absolutely loved the balcony, enjoying our coffee out there in the morning and a cocktail before heading back out in the evening. The full kitchen was lovely, and we cooked in our breakfast every day just to save some money (a gas station and small market just steps away have the basics). The bathroom is huge, and the storage sufficient.

We didn't use the spa, but we enjoyed 1/2 off appetizers and cocktails during happy hour one afternoon at the bar downstairs which was a deal. The pool area is very nice also, with excellent views of the city.

The walk to the strip was longer than it looks, but isn't everything like that in Vegas? In less than 10 minutes we were in the heart of it all, and even sooner if you enter into the Bally's Sports Book and walk through the underground shops to get to the Strip. I was worried about the safeness of the area and the "unsavory characters" some reviewers mentioned, but we spent alot of time walking around the area at night and never had a problem. Overall, our stay at the Platinum was fantastic, and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: Strip view a must!

“The quiet oasis near the madness of Vegas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

I was booked for 3 nights at The Platinum for a business conference. I drove up to the hotel and found it was Valet parking only. When I drive to Vegas I throw extra stuff in the car and when you have to valet the car it makes it unloading a hassle.
Check in was a snap and they put me on the top floor with a view of the strip!
What a shock I got when open the door and my room is a 1 bedroom condo! Nice kitchen and bathroom with an attached bedroom. The family room is small and not super comfortable. Plentyof storage with 2 closets for possible his and hers options. The fridge is full size with plenty of room for all your goods.
The downside is there is no place to smoke including while you are sitting on the balcony outside of your room. I enjoy a cigar once in awhile and I have a gorgeous view of the city from my balcony but can't have a cigar. There is a sign on the sliding glass door that says you will be charged just for evidence of smoking.
The lobby design has a swanky style with the bar just to the left. Happy hour is every night but food service is slow. The food quality in the business conference rooms was very good. There are many conference rooms and it is tricky trying to find your conference room. There were 3 or 4 conferences at the same time as ours and we did have some noise bleeding over from the other conference next door.
When we decided to go out at night it was easy to get a cab even though we were not on the strip.
This hotel is great for business and if you want a hotel without a casino and is non smoking then this is a great choice and is very close to all the big hotels on the strip. This will be one of my top choices when I come back on business.

“Great service-AWESOME room”

Stayed here for a hospitality conference. The room was huge, more like a condo. I had a full size kitchen, living room with big screen TV and a fireplace, huge bedroom with a king bed, large bath with shower and a jacuzzi tub for two, and a washer and dryer in the unit. I also had a balcony with a view of the strip. This hotel is a two block walk from the strip and on the same street as Caesar's, Bellagio, and Bally's.
