“A pleasant stay just off the Strip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

I stayed in a one-bedroom suite for several nights this week and was very happy with my experience. The hotel is part of the Marriott timeshare properties so is quite large but does not have some of the more traditional hotel features, like a restaurant. There are probably 100 restaurants within a short walk from the hotel. The apartments come with a full kitchen, washer/dryer, soaking tub and separate shower and flat screen tv in the bedroom and living area. The hotel is located one block off the strip and I found it very pleasantly quiet. The staff was helpful. As this is part of the timeshare you do not get a traditional hotel cleaning experience every day but they will freshen your room if you so desire. I did not find that even necessary really. There is a small gym (5th floor) and a small pool on the roof with a bar. This location does not offer the Marriott Rewards "premiums" for elite members - none of the timeshare locations do - but you do get your points. With the rates they charge I would me more than happy to skip and upgrade!

All the things that make the Vegas strip attractive (or unattractive) are just steps away. Planet Hollywood Casino and Hotel is across the street. Within one block you will find a 24 hour Walgreens that sells everything you can think of from a drug store including a small selection of fresh food. There is a small shopping mall across the street called the Miracle Mile (part of the Planet Hollywood complex) with several restaurants and shops.

I would recommend this place to anyone who wants more than a simple hotel room and a nice quiet stay in the middle of the madness that is Vegas!

“Excellent hotel!”

We stayed at a friend's timeshare here and it was excellent. The unit came with 2 adjoining rooms, one full kitchen, one luxury double-head shower, one standard shower, one tub in the bedroom (though being oversized enough to fit 2-4 comfortably, it was not a Jacuzzi, probably the only disappointment), 3 HDTVs, and plenty of space. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the valet service is free (so don't forget to tip generously), and they even had a store on-site in case you forgot something (which we did use for Zip-Loc bags, though overpriced the convenience was appreciated). Roof top pool was enjoyable as well, though we did not stop at the roof top bar, which is only open 2pm-4pm. It was walking distance to almost everywhere we went as well, so extremely convenient location.

“Block off Strip...Next to Planet Hollywood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Wife and I stayed here two nights the last weekend of January. We stayed in a Strip facing studio room facing the strip, #2505. Odd-numbered rooms face the Strip.

PROS: Wonderful front desk service from Tiffany at Check-In, Rooms Clean, Room Decor Modern and up to date.

CONS: Slow Valet Service, no Self-Parking alternative and no dining options to speak off

All in all my wife and I had a very pleasant experience at the Marriott Chateau. What you come to expect of at any Marriott property was met at this property. The location of the property is a block off the strip, but its at the very busy intersection of the chaotic City Center complex (Cosmopolitan, Aria, Mandarin etc.). Fortunately, this property lend itself to easy access to alternative routes, such as Koval Lane which runs parallel to the Strip. If your driving, avoid the Strip and use alternate routes or better walk.

This property has no Casino, so the closest casino is the Planet Hollywood across the street. About a short 10-15 minute walk. Restaurant options are abound in the Miracle Mile Shops and the Paris Hotel/Casino is the next property up. Would recommend this property to any Marriott fan. Its not a self-contained property, where you don't have to leave the property, but it utilizes it surroundings to compliment itself.

Room Tip: Odd Numbered Rooms Face the Strip...Even Numbered Rooms Face the East Mountains or Paradise Road.

“Just what we needed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

A very good location, just off the main Strip, a few strides from the Bellagio and Planet Hollywood (you can see them from the hotel window). There are no casino or slots onsite which makes it a nice oasis in Vegas. There are also no restaurants as this is a self catering property

Valet parking is free, and quick enough, with helpful staff, though if you only need to visit the main Strip you probably won't need a car. They even supply a driving map for the local supermarket, and have a courtesy bus that goes there (but not often).

Stayed in the one bedroom as there were three of us, and one was a 90 year old relative who needed their own space, so it worked out perfectly. Spacious, very comfortable and with all the self contained amenities you need - from washing machine with dryer, to dishwasher, very efficient oven and pretty much all the utensils and crockery. Two free packets of coffee with the filters, so good to go. And of course free wifi

A few grumbles - the walls are on the thin side so weekends can be a bit noisy. The towels were a little bit less plush than what we expected from a Marriott, and a few front desk staff who were big on "HI, HOW ARE YOUuuuuu" and smaller on actually being helpful. But check in and check out is seamless.

Just what you need in Vegas.

Note to those who rent cars. The car rental companies have a policy of pre-charging you for a full tank and asking you to drop it off empty. Unless you plan to do some travelling outside of Vegas you'll end up paying for at least half a tank of petrol after a week. So if you can opt out of this and do your own filling you save some money..

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor with a view of the Strip. It's wonderful to look at the skyline at night

“Excellent Resort - Close to the Las Vegas Strip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

The Marriott Grand Chateau resort is located approximately a block from the Las Vegas Strip and although it does not have an on-site casino, it is directly across from the Miracle Mile casino/shopping complex owned by Planet Hollywood and offers every type of dining /shopping one could hope for. The Grand Chateau does have an on-site mini-market for last minute grocery/snack/toiletry supplies and a roof-top pool with bar on the 38th floor; however, there is no on-site restaurant, which for us was not a problem, given the proximity to the Strip. Our two-bedroom, two bathroom suite was perfect for two couples vacationing together and included everything required to prepare snacks and meals; however, we opted to eat most meals out. If you are looking for something completely different, then Vegas is the place for you and the Marriott Grand Chateau is the perfect place to unwind when you have had enough of the hectic pace in Sin City.
