Had a mix up on the date of arrival and I payed for a night I wasn't there. So in the line at reception " youll have to talk to someone else. I wasn't there to spend my time arguing about the date on my papers back home "GUEST LOSES FIRST ROUND" . That night Im woken to the sound of banging and music 3 am . wait 20 minutes call front desk " we'll send security to look but its probably the night club, they close in an hour though" BUT I"M ON THE 38 floor!!! So "GUEST LOSES ROUND TWO" I waited till I had some time then asked to talk to the manager. "sorry theres no manager on duty " What MOTEL 6 kinda Answer is that?"GUEST LOSES ROUND THREE" no manager calls me back . another desk person answers the request to speak to the manager. "guest loses round Four..." and on it goes will I get anything for my 1,220 stay ? who knows. A group told me they stay at the Bellagio all the time. The Bellagio has a bunch of loyal followers . Iceing on the cake ? there was puke in the elevator for my entire stay. Dont think my Bellagio experience was like that either. BEWARE Not the classy joint its advertised to be in my experience!

Room Tip: Not on the night club side , ah ya that would be the road side ist the best side HA!

“Not for GAMBLER'S! Comp's are Horrible!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

If you stay there, don't gamble there, Gamble somewhere else where you win more and are rewarded more for playing. I'm not advocating for a specific "other Hotel", but from my experience your better off gambling somewhere else where the slots are looser & the table's are better.
What does 11 hours of playing Blackjack min. bet of $50 per hand & 3 days of non-stop slot play earning you 1 point for every $1.50 played at the slots to accumulate 10,000 players club points in 2 1/2 day's get you?????? Absoulty nothing!!! Do the math 10,000 points at $1.50...How much did we gamble??? And Table play is not really tracked & you don't get points, but they do track your time at the table and the # they come up with of your losses is reminicent of a bad accountant cooking the books. Get the picture?
Well, okay it got us something Comp'd..................... $150 dollars off our food and beverage bill. Basically enough to pay for 3 people at thier buffet.

We stayed, Played and ate at the Wynn for three days, our bill was $1,600 (Not including hotel room) for eating, shows, drinks at the night club, entrance to thier club etc.... Not to mention our room was $300 a night plus our flights to get to vegas. We spent sooo much money and lost sooo much money and all we got was a Buffet & a half off of our bill for me and my wife.

Comp's for gamblers at the Wynn are Horrible! Sure its a nice looking hotel & they have a giant waterfall, but one thing they forgot to take care of is the gamblers. It is a casino first right? What a big disappointment. If im spending lot's of money & losing money at least Comp the room & keep me coming back to lose & spend more money knowing i can lay my head down the next time for 5 hours a night to drink, gamble and lose more money all while feeling better thinking that i got a free room, when i really didn't. That's a no brainer.
I'm not a whale, im more like a dolphin with deeper pockets than most, but there are a hell of a lot of dolphins out there that like to spend lot's of money.

Room Tip: Get a room more then 30 floors up if your put on the Back side (Golf Course side) on weekends. The o...

“Lives up to the hype!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Husband and I stayed here for a romantic getaway.

As you can see from the photos, Wynn takes great pride even in their 'public' areas like the lobby, check in desks, and casino area. Fresh flowers throughout, the air even smells better than other casinos, and spotlessly maintained.

Service: Probably one of the top staff all around The check in clerk was pleasant and efficient, and although we upgraded to a corner suite, we never felt pressured into doing so. We know we got a great deal on Expedia, and were pleasantly surprised to see we wee treated no differently than other high rolling clientele. Most surprising was the often unseen and forgotten staff: cleaning crews, doormen, etc All-yes, all-greated us with smiles and hellos, regardless of time of day or even where we were in the hotel. One minor disappointment was the curt sportsbook workers...

Room: We upgraded to the corner suite. WOW! Gorgeous view of the strip at night, enjoyed watching the sunset over the mountains, bathrooms opulent and large. No issues with sound from other rooms. Only minor issue was no fridge.

Food: As part of our deal, we had a resort credit to spend on food and shows. We had brunch and supper at the buffet. Although the setting was stunning, the food was surprisingly underwhelming. For breakfast, selection was great...yet everything seemed to be at room temperature. Simple things like eggs benedict being warm was not an issue...It felt like it was left out. We were also expecting more gourmet-type options, perhaps they restrict these to their restaurants? For supper, dessert bar section was above and beyond...but again, entrees were underwhelming. Often you could see that they had been left out sitting with poorly working warmers. Ate at PlanetHollywood buffet-way worse 'atmosphere', yet food quality far surpassed Wynn, which was a surprise.

Shows: Went to boh "La Reve" and "Come Dance with Me". Some of the top shows we have seen. La Reve rivals Cirque's "O", but has a much more intimate seating - no bad seats. Just use the washroom first! My husband still raves about the live band playing the Sinatra hits, and as a dancer myself, these are some of the top talents around (read their resumes in the program!).

Casino: Clean and well kept. We're not really table gamblers. Drinks service was somewhat slow, but of good quality. Make sure to bring ID - I'm in my late 20s, and left my ID in the room. Even though I had a room key and even health insurance (in my husbands wallet) indicating my name and DOB some waitresses refused service. Frustrating but flattering!

Pool: Possibly the best on the strip. Classy, beautiful topiary, music present but never invasive. Service was prompt but not invasive if you just wanted to hang out. Somehow manages to feel private and exclusive.

In sum, stay here, go for the upgrades...but there are better options for eats. We will return.

“Classy, elegant, comfortable but can be pricey.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Depending on one's budget, the Wynn can be considered pricey or not.

Your senses will be enlivened the moment you enter the hotel, with a gorgeous array of fresh flowers and plants, lights in the trees, and absolutely phenomenal decorations.

We thoroughly enjoyed our three-night stay, and found every staff member to be friendly, proficient and helpful. Check in and out was a breeze, staff at the consierge desk offered great tips on restaurants outside the hotel as well as transportation/directional info. Comfortable beds/linens, large bathroom with good shower/towels/amenities. Wonderful a/c; works perfectly.

We dined at the Terrace Point Cafe for breakfast each day, which was very pleasant. Seating can be indoors or outside patio near the pool. Lovely views, good service, good food.
As there are no coffee makers in the rooms, one is forced to run downstairs to a bakery/cafe for a cup, order room service, leave the hotel or try one of the hotel restaurants serving breakfast. We did buy coffee in the bakery/cafe but did not try any food as none of it looked that appealing, especially the pastries which did not appear fresh. A lady there said they were fresh daily but the cookies in individual bags appeared to be overcooked and dry.
We each had soup one afternoon in the Zoocrackers restaurant which was quite tasty.

We requested a quiet room on a higher floor and were given the 32nd floor facing the strip. If you are a light sleeper, as am I, then it is not at all quiet, as one can hear constant street noise and the Treasure Island cannons which set off periodically all evening long. -We could also hear the voices of occupants in the room next door. While the walls are not paper thin, they are also not soundproof, something we would prefer, especially in a high caliber hotel like the Wynn. Next time we shall request the golf course side for a bit more quiet.

Tips for Vegas first timers: the single most important thing you need to do is hydrate, constantly, each and every day. The desert air will dry you out quickly, so drinking plenty of water will help. Also, I always bring eye drops, nasal spray and chapstick to help with the dryness.

Directly across the street from the Wynn is the Fashion Show Mall and in front of it is a kiosk for the local bus run by RTC, the Deuce. One can ride as often as possible in a 24-hour period for $7, all up and down the strip, plus to both outlet malls in the south and north. It's easy to hop on and off, visit casinos, eat, shop, whatever you prefer. Walking the strip can be fun but if the feet tire then use the bus. There are also 2-hour and 5-day tickets available. The double decker bus stops everywhere while the single bus is an express, which is what we took to the north outlet mall. You still see a lot of sites on the way, but is faster without all the stops. It passes by the Freemont St. area, which can be fun walking around at night, giving one an experience of "old Las Vegas."

Here is a tip most locals will not tell you: the moment you sit down in a taxi, the fare begins at $3.30. With all the traffic and construction along the strip, a short ride can really add up. If taking a taxi to the airport, allow at least 15-20 minutes, depending on time/day. Also, the fare will be about $16 if you demand to be taken along Paradise, and NOT the freeway, which takes longer and will cost more. We paid $6 each for a shuttle from the airport to the Wynn, which makes a lot of other hotel stops. We only rode in two taxis, and the first driver was a pure delight, giving us these tips. The second driver, who picked us up at the Wynn for the airport, was a jerk, who did not want to take us on Paradise and who had a really sour attitude. We told him we would not ride with him if he did not follow our instructions so he relented. One never knows what one is going to get, it's just the luck of the draw.

Hope this info helps. Enjoy a really fun experience and best of luck!

Room Tip: For light sleepers, higher floors facing the golf course far from elevators will be quieter.

“My Favorite Hotel/Casino in Vegas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

I really loved staying at the Wynn! I have stayed thus far at the Venetian, New York New York, Monte Carlo, and Luxor as well, but the Wynn is my favorite. I think the rooms at the Venetian may be a bit larger, but I found staying at the Wynn much easier. Getting in and out of your room at the Venetian seemed like a lot more work because of how crowded the Venetian always was. The room at the Wynn was very clean and had very luxurious touches. I also found that the crowd at the Wynn in general was more up my alley - people were having fun but there was nothing trashy or tacky (or at least a lot less than some of the other casinos/areas on the strip). I highly recommend!
