Stayed here for one week in February. I was impressed with the relative calm this hotel complex offers but still only two blocks from the tourist traffic on the Las Vegas Strip. The hotel is not so large and is made up of several 3-story buldings located in very attractive landscaping. This gives the hotel a sense of calmness in almost a rural atmosphere. The main lobby is separated from the casino, so one could stay here without even approaching the girating noise of the casino.
The room was extremely large and my building was a 3-5minute walk from the main building housing the restaurants. It had a sofa bed and armchair in the sitting area and a small kitchenette. But the latter was not very practical since, although they provide a electric cooker there are no cooking utensils! I mentioned this drawback to the reception and they will provide a microwave on request. However, there is really no need to bother with self catering. Marilyn's restaurant serves an expansive choice of menues 24 hrs. But I did find the ambience of this restaurant rather downbeat and more like a cafeteria/canteen. The Italian restaurant is open evenings and I found that very good, in quiet and sophisticated surroundings.
There is a good fitness center with an exercise pool. Unfortunately the main pool and garden were closed for maintenance works. But this would be a delightful spot when it reopens.
I found the ubiquitous 'resort fee' a bit unnecessary - just a way of these hotels making an extra buck but prividing little for it. They did say that it goes towards the provision of the fitness center and free wifi in the public areas of the hotel (lobby, Piazza Lounge, cafe, upstairs banqueting areas). But the price I paid was extremely good value. A car is useful buat not essential, as it is a bit of a walk to the Strip.
