“Great Location”

We had some timeshare pts that we needed to use so we decided to go to Las Vegas for the 1st time in 25 yrs. After a 1.5hr delay in getting a taxi from the airport, we arrived at the Desert Rose & were able to check in early. We didn't realize that we had chosen SuperBowl & Republican Caucas weekend. We had a choice of rooms & opted for an inside room with a garden view. It was perfect - very quiet & had a nice decor. We enjoyed having the small kitchen to chill our wine & fruit. The bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows. We were surprised to find out about the free breakfast in the morning. Nice way to start our day.
We came to Vegas to see the town & enjoy the Phantom of the Opera & the Donnie & Marie show, both excellent. Since we spent most of our time outside the resort, I can't say much about the resort activities. The staff was eager to make sure that we enjoyed our stay. We had one dinner at Delmonico's in the Venetian. Outstanding. We also had a late lunch in the Eifel Tower restaurant which was a great place to sit & people watch. The drinks outside the front of Caesar's were also great. We sat there enjoying the sun, a rare event in the NW in the winter. If you are looking for something away from the strip, I think the Desert Rose is perfect.

“First Class Service”

I was so impressed with the quality of service we received from all the staff, they were so friendly and helpful, they most certainly provided us with first class service. Located a few blocks from the strip, near the MGM, it was very nice and quite, but close to all amenties, and just a short drive to the airport. They provided a complimentary breakfast ( hot and cold food ) plus complimentary happy hour drinks. The one bedroom suite we stayed in was very clean, spacious and comfortable.

Room Tip: One with a balcony.

“pretty nice for 3 nights”

we were in town for a sporting tournament. 5 of us stayed in the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite.. talk about large! the "master bedroom" had a king, 1small closet and 1 medium walk in closet, large sink area and separate toilet/shower. plus TV... 2nd bedroom had 2 twin beds, large closet with double doors and a TV... The bathroom was very large and included a "walk in" shower. Dining area had a small table that sat 4, kitchen had stove/oven, DISHWASHER, refrigerator, microwave and dishware, flatware, glasses and utensils.. Really everything you would need except food! But included was breakfast that was very filling, eggs, sausages (bacon would've been nice) cereals, fruits, beverages etc..
the "living room" area had a lovely couch that my youngest slept on as it was a chaise lounge couch. sliding door opened to patio, It was very quiet, very accommodating and we would definitely stay there again..
It wasn't right in the "thick of things" but darn close! Right next to Hooters and the Tropicana.
They even provide separate towels for the spa/pool which actually is nice so you don't have to bring out your bathing towel.

Room Tip: apparently Californians get a special room rate.

“Super Nice Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

We spent a week at the Desert Rose. In contrast to the strip, it is unpretentious, quiet and comfortable. Yet, it is just a block or so from all the lights and excitement. It's near the MGM and New York New York. The rooms was really nice and clean. The bed was comfortable. Housekeeping staff was friendly and attentive and our room always looked great when we got back to it. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, as was everyone else. No bad attitudes. The seemed to genuinely care that we enjoyed our stay. It is not a big fancy resort, but it has everything you need and is well maintained. We would definitely stay here again and I have no hesitation recommending it.

Room Tip: We asked for a room overlooking the pool area and they were able to accomodat.
