“Very good with room for improvement”

I spent 3 nights at Vdara and was satisfied in most ways. Having stayed at the MGM Signature a number of times, however, I was disappointed that the newer Vdara didn't raise the bar for me.

The big advantage to the Vdara is location. Obviously, it's located in the City Center, but Vdara is a 50-yard covered walkway away from the Bellagio, as well.

The shortcomings of Vdara are few but diminish what could be a five-star property:
1) no robes in the room (you call housekeeping to request them)
2) no tableware in the kitchen
3) wood chairs on marble kitchen floor - upstairs room made a ridiculous amount of noise just sitting in the kitchen...at 2am
4) soaking tub instead of a jacuzzi
5) no covered, climate-controlled walkways to casinos (unenclosed walkway to Bellagio is as close as they get)

The only other hotel I've stayed at in Vegas is the Signature, which has the missing amenities above and doesn't have the chairs on marble issue either. The huge benefit to Vdara's location is enough to outweigh these shortcomings. I much prefer being able to walk 100-200 yards to 3 of the best casinos and high-end shopping on the Strip instead of having to take a looooong walk or cab ride from the Signature.

If I am going to Vegas for something other than the Strip (business), I would probably stay at Signature over Vdara. If I am going to Vegas for fun, I'll look into another similar property (Trump or Palazzo) before heading back to Vdara.

“Fabulous non-casino hotel!”

I have been to Las Vegas twenty-three times on business. This is my favorite hotel and I'll tell you why - no casino and no smoking! You walk in the front door, pass the beautiful reception desk in the lobby and head right to the elevator. No walking a mile through a smoky casino to get to the elevator to your room. This hotel, originally planned as luxury condos, I believe, is beautifully appointed with comfortable modern furnishings. The unit was extremely clean, the bed was wonderfully comfortable, and the bathroom was luxurious with a large glass shower and separate tub. Each suite has a small kitchen. If you ask at check-in, you may get a room with a view of the Bellagio fountain! We did! Even though Vdara is not directly on the strip, it's a short walk to the Bellagio. Not an inconvenience at all. I will definitely stay here next time!

“Great hotel, but poor processes”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

I loved the rooms, ammenities, spa and gym....but hotel management were inattentive and broke promises to us by not having rooms ready when promises. Also, the little restaurant has good food for a quick bite but the service and waiting times are terrible.

“Great non-gaming resort with spacious rooms”

I have stayed here twice in the last year and both times proved to be amazing. The staff is helpful and the rooms are great. Make sure to request a room facing the strip and bellagio fountains. Having a full kitchen is nice to have for snacks and drinks. The rooms are truly amazing and well cared for. There are not too many options to eat or drink on property, so make sure to grab things when you're out and about. Great staff, and a great hotel.

“Best Hotel for Non-Smokers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Best Hotel for Non-smokers – Excellent Location

Ask for a room on the highest floor possible for the best view.
The rooms are basically floor to ceiling windows, so the views are awesome.
Cool décor, flat screen tv’s and nice kitchenettes.

No smoking in the entire building and there are no gaming tables or slot machines.

There are no restaurants in this hotel.
NO problem, the Cosmopolitan is right next door where you can eat at Milos, Comme Ca, Jaleo, Scarpetta. You can walk across the street to Aria, where you can eat at Sage, Serrano, Am Fish, etc.
There is also a walkway that connects to the Bellagio right next door. Sensi is the first restaurant available to you. Also close to their atrium with the seasonal displays.
