In August of 2011 my family & I stayed at Sams Town RV Park. When making the reservations a few months earlier, I told them we had service dogs with us and asked to be put as close as possible to the facilities (Laundry, bathroom) due to us having a pop up trailer and disability issues. They said no problem, just call the week before we get there & confirm the requests. When we got there we were informed that it would be an additional charge (even though there were maybe 20 rv's in the WHOLE park). Ok, it was 115 degrees out, so fine we paid it. Then there was an issue with the front desk girl and my service dog. She asked if it was medically necessary that I swim, I told her "no, it's 115 degrees out, I'd LIKE to swim" she then went on to tell me my dog didn’t have a service dog vest on (even though his leash & collar had all the appropriate tags). I told her that it wasn’t a law to have to wear a vest & in 115 degrees heat I will NOT ask my dogs to wear their vests. From day 1 I felt harassed & at a point even broke down in tears while going to make a complaint to management. The ONLY person who even seemed like she cared was the RV park manager, not even the Sams Town Hotel/Casino management. They said, "oh ______ would NEVER say that" (meaning the girl at the front desk). They gave me a $15.00 credit & the RV park manager apologized. I will NEVER go back to that park; they have NO idea how to deal with people with disabilities and their service dogs!!
Room Tip: Stay on the strip it's worth it! (the breakfast buffett was great)
