Rooms a little tired but clean. Enjoyed casino (Thank you Harrah's ) . Buffet was disappointing with lots of variety but cafeteria standards of quality and decor. It was a nice easy place to stay and I would consider going back again. It was very close to a lot of off premises amenities and did not require a manual and tour guide to sort out the onsite amenities.

Room Tip: we upgraded to min-suite for about $35 a night - enjoyed large room and they even brought small frid...

“Harrah's before Christmas”

We had a good room overlooking the strip for a very good price, $30 a night average, including a weekend!! The downside was that it was small with a queen only but we didn't care. The room was cleaned every day and we have no complaints. Terrific location, we ate elsewhere on the strip. So easy to catch the Deuce at the Venitian going to Freemont or cross the street with the crosswalk out front to go in the other direction. If you're 60 or older and bring ID to the Bonneville Transit Station, out of towners can get a senior pass inside and walk outside to a machine and get a 5 day pass for $10. It's a great bargain, we went everywhere with it, much easier travel than I expected. Harrah's casino was full any time of the day or night.

“OK Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

I had read on Trip Advisor that Harrah's AC system had caused problems for some people. So when I called for maintenance to come fix the TV (remote not working) I mentioned it, the nice gentleman tweaked the settings to keep it running constantly - but told me to not touch it. Somehow during my 2-night stay (for a conference in Sept. 2011) the setting got "untweaked." The second night the system went on and off constantly, staying on for 1 minute, off for half a minute. I didn't want anyone coming into the room that late so I stuck in some ear plugs - which weren't all that comfortable. Location - great! The view of the strip and the Mirage volcano were spectacular. The room was clean, restaurants had great food, outside bar - super fun! The staff all treated me very nicely. Harrah's did a nice job with the conference. Would stay again if I knew I wouldn't have to deal with the AC situation. Average only because of the AC. Conference price rocked!

“Broken Internet, Broken Dreams”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

Horrible. I had to change rooms because of a busted modem, only to find my second room also had zero internet access. Being in town on business, this was a huge obstacle. The staff directed me to their telephone help line, wherein I spent an hour and a half trying to reset a broken modem, all the while my phone line was buzzing like a jet engine. I attempted to call the help line back on my cell (to avoid the inevitable screaming over the buzzing phone line), but alas, my room had zero cell reception. In the end, it was a total waste of time and energy, and the hotel staff did nothing to fix the problem.

I was even more upset to find that several of my coworkers (in town for CES) had the same problem. Harrah's claims of working internet access are total BS. Super disappointed with my stay here.

Room Tip: Don't stay here!

“Nice relaxed hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

Stayed for a week in December 2011. After reading some of the reviews on TA i didn't know what to expect. I was really impressed with the hotel. It's large but not so large that it's intimidating. very happy with the room, we had 2 double beds and was really large. I agree that there isn't enough wardrobe space or hangers in the room. The free safe came in handy along with the hairdryer provided. the beds are soooo comfy!! We had a connecting door in the room and our neighbours were really noisy (don't know whether they sounded louder due to the door being there). We stayed in the carnival tower overlokking the pool. As it was December the pool was deserted so it was a really quiet room (excluding the neighbours). A few of our party were in the other tower and they said they had quiet rooms as well. Ate in Flavours buffet a few times and was impressed with it. The hotel is in a really great location on the strip so you're not too far from anywhere. Would definately stay here again.

Room Tip: Read all the advice on here about giving the receptioist a $20 tip for a nicer room but we didn'...
