The Luxor came with a vacation package from one of those airline package deals. I take my wife to LV twice a year, she enjoys the video poker machines and I grin and bear it. We have stayed in several different hotels and I really do not believe there is much difference in rooms. Well the plane ole average tourist room. Then who stays in the room, rooms are cheaper at home so your there to have fun, and the fun is not in the room.
Why the Luxor, well it looked great in the pamphlet, and on the internet. No one mentioned it is almost impossible to get from one place to another on the casino floor. If you stay in the pyramid as we did, it was nice, and you need to do it for one night, and then get out.
From you rooms looking down from the inside of the pyramid you see lots of things, but no slot machines. That’s because you are looking down at the 2nd floor Food Court and Show Rooms. So any directions you make are useless once on the main floor where the gambling is and the doors to get out of the place.
It’s a pyramid, four sides; it should be easy, well take a big square and put a big room in the middle and no direct path to any door, exit, location other than gaming machines and tables. Then add 5 or more restaurants and more bars then hide the doors. Good luck getting anywhere.
There are only 4 sets of elevators to hotel rooms, but wait, only one may go to your floor. This means you will most likely have to enter the building from one direction and play the slot machine maze to find the hidden elevator not elevators to your room.
Few people working there could give you accurate directions to where you wanted to go.
Good luck, we could not wait to check out and go to another hotel.
We will never stay here again
Rooms in the tower are supposed to be much nicer, we wanted the pyramid room to experience the slant...
