First, let me tell you that this review covers the hotel and the restaurants (in the lobby) only. I do not have any interest in gambling, and so I cannot talk about the casino, except to observe that the casino is ubiquitous and ever-present, because it takes up pretty much the entirety of the large lobby, aside from the hotel desk and the gift shop! Having said that, I will say that during my Nov. 2010 stay here, I much enjoyed wandering the casino and simply people-watching!
I like the hotel, and the restaurants! I spent 10 days here in late 2010, and I have reserved another stay, this one for 9 days, in late Novermber (2011). I ended up eating all three meals on most days at the hotel, and made only two forays up to south Las Vegas to find other food. Overall, the restaurants were quite good, and the food was quite good.
My room was located in the north tower, which is the older tower, and the room interior definitely felt a bit old and a bit shabby, but the room was clean, and well-equipped, and the somewhat dark 1960s/1970s decor of the room and the rest of the hotel was quiet and comforting, and very peaceful.
Overall, I had a good stay, and that is why I am going back again in November of this year (2011); I have some consulting work to do in the area, and this is far quieter and more comforting option that the modern cold steel/concrete/glass monstrosities in bustling Las vegas.
