Reviews I looked beforehand suggested that though the inn itself was nice, the outside was less than inviting and the "area" around it was less than desireable. BUT we were going to Missoula and it was close to where we wanted to be so we stayed there. First the setting - there is nothing wrong with the area except that it is mostly commercial - across from one of the larger malls in Missoula (and just feet away from Curley's, one of the better steakhouses in Missoula). . Though the outside of the building is old, it has been well decorated with hanging baskets and flower beds. The real treasure, though, is inside. Well appointed and spotless rooms, an extremely friendly and helpful staff, much more than one might expect for the price. We plan to stay there every time we are in Missoula.

We arrived earlier than expected, but they found an available room for us that had already been cleaned and we were able to move right in. The price was very fair. The room was very, very clean and well appointed. They had fresh-baked cookies for us to nibble on as we checked in. They offered large rags to my husband so he could wash his motorcycle. When we mentioned we had to take our motorcycle to the BMW dealership, they offered to come and pick us up even before we thought to ask the question. On the second day when it was time to pick up the motorcycle, they offered to drive us again. It was already way past check-out time when we picked up the bike, and we debated hitting the road, but didn't know how that would work so late in the afternoon. The front desk told us that when they are aware of situations like ours, as long as a housekeeper was still available, we could have left at no extra charge. Wow! Good to know next time! We ended up staying a second night because we were comfortable there. They have an excellent WiFi. Breakfast comes with the room and they had fresh fruit!! And two waffle makers!! During this 12-day vacation we stayed in 10 motels. Val-U Inn of Missoula rates right at the top for the cost and the service. We'll be going back.

We chose this online and were so pleased with the whole experience/ Clean room, great bed, right across from a mall which was good for a nice walk after dinner. Elevator and luggage trolley saved trips bringing things. We have been on the road and this was a pleasant surprise. Don't hesitate - you will be pleased.

This fall we took an 11 day trip through Washington, Idaho and Montana. While on this trip, I unfortunately lost a money belt with a large sum of money in it, apparently leaving it in one of the hotels or motels in which we stayed. I checked back with several of the properties and had no luck at finding the location where I misplaced my money belt. When we got home, there was a call from Kay, the general manager of the Missoula Val U Inn. She asked if I had possibly left something in our room. I immedialy realized that someone had found our money and turned it in!! This type of honesty and professionalism is quite rare these days. I want to thank all of you and I will put the Val U Inn on the top of my list and also recommend to all my freinds.
