This small hotel is convenient, clean, comfortable and the staff is very gracious and helpful. We usually stay at least once a year while visiting family and friends. This year we stayed twice in May and June. We stayed a total of 15 days. The weekday hot cookies are great after a packed day of visiting and hiking. The morning breakfasts are great. Fresh fruit, berries, waffles and 24 hour hot drinks are very welcome. The manager always asks us if we need transportation to or from the airport. We rarely need this service but it is great to be asked if we do. There is a clean laundry on site which makes traveling so much easier. It is steps away from great dining as well as fast food sites. Because it is a stones throw from the Missoula Mall, there are lots of shopping opportunities as well as healthy lunch choices. The rooms are fairly spacious. The free wi-fi is a plus. They do have a computer available in the lobby. The free newspapers are a treat as are the comfortable lobby furnishings with a large screen TV. Best of all is the staff. They quickly learned our names and addressed us whenever they saw us. The staff is friendly, warm, and helpful. You can't miss with a stay here.

Chose this last minute based on reviews. Clean, friendly, nice breakfast selection. Big wish is for hotels to get less noisy A/C units.

I recently visited my son in Missoula with my partner and mom and dad. He made us reservations at the Val-u-inn. It was only blocks from his house which made it convenient , but i would stay there again anyway. The rooms were soo clean, the rates were great. Great b-fast included in price.
Special kudoes to Kay, the owner, and Jason , the assistant manager, for being so incredibly nice and gracious to us.

Reviews I looked beforehand suggested that though the inn itself was nice, the outside was less than inviting and the "area" around it was less than desireable. BUT we were going to Missoula and it was close to where we wanted to be so we stayed there. First the setting - there is nothing wrong with the area except that it is mostly commercial - across from one of the larger malls in Missoula (and just feet away from Curley's, one of the better steakhouses in Missoula). . Though the outside of the building is old, it has been well decorated with hanging baskets and flower beds. The real treasure, though, is inside. Well appointed and spotless rooms, an extremely friendly and helpful staff, much more than one might expect for the price. We plan to stay there every time we are in Missoula.
