I attended a wedding event at the hotel in early November and I have to say that the Red Lion Hotel Kalispell surprised me with how the incredible hotel experience. You have to admit that going to Kalispell in Winter is not a "top-of-mind" dream. But, if you had to go to Kalispell in Winter, you definitely want to stay at the Red Lion Hotel Kalispell...here is why: (1) The lobby has a "Stein Eriksen"-esque quality about it with the decor and the large fire place and I absolutely love it and spent a couple of hours reading Gladwell in front of the fire. (2) The service was excellent. Katrina was very helpful with local dining recommendations. I especially appreciate her strong support for going to Julie's (2 blocks from the hotel) for breakfast. (3) The hotel is attached to the only shopping area in town so there is always something to do. I got half of my shopping list taken care of during a Saturday morning and it was fun seeing the kids line up for Santa. (4) The room is great. Very spacious and the bed is very warm and comfortable. (5) There is an indoor pool, spa and sauna. Too few hotels today provide these threesome necessity (Pool+Spa+Sauna) and I am a huge fan. (6) Last, but not least, BREAKFAST IS FREE!!! This isn't your usual breakfast. There is an omelette station and the breakfast dining area is set up in this funky atrium area right next to the entrance of the Kalispell Center Mall. I am a Hilton Honors member and rarely take advantage of the cold porridge experience at Hampton's. This breakfast was hot, fast and delicious with plenty of healthy to choose from.
Thanks again to the team at the Red Lion. We will be back whether it is Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall!
Room Tip: The corner suites are very spacious and provided 2 beds and a pullout couch.
