“The Star Wars Bar Scene has nothing on this place!!!”

If you enterested in living life on the edge this is the place for you. I found that by sitting in the restaurant late in the evening I was entertained by all the creatures of the night wandering in off the street to visit the attached bar. It was very entertaining! I'm not sure about the bar itself as I did not venture into it. The indoor pool was roped off. I think the white sudsy stuff floating on top may have come from people using it as a large bathtub. The room had a certain smell that permeated everything. It brought back memories of my days as a HAZMAT Technician clearing meth labs. The pillows will not cause any neck problems as they are flatter than an IHOP pancake. The towels reminded of type 10 grit sandpaper. Don't worry about that too much though. Once you leave a towel on the floor the maids will gladly take it and not replace it. They will even leave all the dirt on the floor so it can be enjoyed during the whole stay!

Room Tip: Rooms in another hotel are highly sought after

“Glen DIVE is RIGHT!”

Unfortunately I had to make last minute arrangements to stay in this area and had not read the reviews in advance, but I hope that someone else is spared a night of misery from the lesson I've learned. This is the most expensive and equally disgusting hotel I have ever had the displeasure to meet. I am not fussy at all and have never written a review before. I should have known when the desk clerk started rambling about the complaint policy at check-in that something was awry. Name a disturbing hotel cliche and this place has it! From unidentifiable grime running along the line where floor meets wall, smudgy surfaces, broken lamps, moldy shower curtain, stained seat, insecure doors, a visible bug in the bed, etc. ... even the pool was closed, I shutter to think why. I spent my entire stay minimizing contact with all surfaces to avoid leaving with uninvited guests on luggage and self. I would like to think they are no longer associated with Best Western because the chain refused to associate themselves with such an armpit. I have stayed at other hotels that were half the price in more interesting locations and much cleaner. Spare yourself and spend a more sanity night in a highway restroom. This is the worst scam ever. Don't pay attention to the name on Trip Advisor... this is NOT a Best Western, it is the Glendive/JORDAN Inn, looks like a prison, is a mess on the outside and a horror on the inside. Drive as long as it takes to avoid this stop.

“A Haven to the desperate”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2011

On our family trip I had intentionally booked hotels and planned nights to avoid staying in Glendive as none of the hotel reviews are promising. Unfortunatly our very highly rated hotel in Buffalo, SD "lost" our reservation and Glendive was the next closest place with an open hotel room. They took my desperate reservation over the phone at 9:30pm. I was fearfull as I remembered the reviews, and the fear doubled when upon entering Glendive and finding the location the GPS directed us too, we were confronted with what looked like a seedy bar/ flop house. However at 12:30am there's just not much to choose from and sleeping in our car with the three kids was out of the question.
I checked in and was informed that they didn't have hot water, due to plumbing issues. I really didn't care at that point. We unloaded and found the room in that area of the hotel that boasted a rather nice looking pool. The room (which we searched and even stripped the beds checking for bugs) was surprisingly clean. The beds were soft and it was quiet.
The morning proved that not only was there no hot water but the cold water was suspicious in color. We used bottled water for our nessesities. Breakfast was hot, free, filling and served by a friendly waitress. Overall this place would not top my list as great vacation hotels, but niether was it the worst I have stayed in, water issues not withstanding.

“Wrong Reviews”

I read the reviews listed previously and was somewhat skeptical to stay here. We had a 30th class reunion in Glendive. The hotel has not been kept up to the standards that it held back in the 80's but definitely is "Not" as bad as people have said on the reviews. If they have not stayed at worse.....well then they are doing pretty good. My only complaint is that the girl that worked in the morning was very rude but the gentleman that came in after her was very accomodating. The other complaint was that the pool was closed down the whole time. Definitely agree that the hotel needs some current upgrades and that the cost was a little higher than it should have been for a hotel in this shape but the overall experience was good. Glendive has changed over 30 years but it is still a town where most of the people are friendly. I would stay here again.

“keep driving”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2011

we'd called and made reservations thinking it was a Best Western. it no longer is so had trouble just finding it,
got to lobby and no one there. there was a sign saying no hot water (we had been camping and were looking forward to a shower). finally after ten minutes of no one at desk a guy came but had to immediately leave to answer phone in next room. he came back a couple of minutes later and confirmed no hot water and left to answer phone again. number of barefoot teens hanging out in lobby. obviously not guests. desk guy finally comes back to cancel our reservation.
we are driving extra 90 minutes for somewhere to stay since everything else in town is filled.
should have read these comments before even trying this non Best Western.
