“Best vacation so far”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2010

This was the best cabin ever, I could go there every year for rest and relaxation. The east side of Glacier is less busy and more relaxed. My parents loved this place as much as me. My dad stayed one day at the cabin while my mother and I went horse back riding in Glacier National Park. He sat on porch and watch the horses in pasture behind our cabin. This is a hidden treasure and I hope to visit it again in the future.

“Traveler's Rest will definitely be repeated”

We stayed two nights at Traveler's Rest at the start of our trip to Glacier/Waterton. These cabins were clean, cozy, and well stocked. There was a kitchen, gas log fireplace, it was roomy and had a wonderful front porch overlooking the mountains. The sinks were separate from the main bathroom, which I find a great convenience. It had a lot of little touches that showed the thought put into the building of these cabins. Plus the owners were wonderful, warm people only too happy to help with anything. I would recommend this to anyone.

“Barn Loft stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2010

Surprised that we were in a renovated barn loft. It was cozy, and clean. The kitchen had a refrigerator, stove top (no oven), and microwave. No TV, or radio. There was, however, no room service which I was not told about prior to making the reservation. This was not a problem since we stayed there for only 4 days. Fresh towels would have been nice. We also had several moths in the room after we returned from a long day of hiking which we're not there when we left in the morning.

“A little slice of Montana life”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2010

Our stay at Travelers Rest was too short. The property has private log cabins that are clean, nicely decorated in Montana style with a fully stocked kitchenette, gas fireplace, and comfy bed. Plenty of linens and good water pressure. A small front porch gave us a great place to relax after visiting Glacier and watch free roaming horses across the road. Bob and Diane are very hospitable and recommended a local restaurant (Ramsey's Firebrand Pass) where we had a delicious dinner. We are looking forward to staying there again for a longer period of time and would recommend this property very highly.

“A Gem Among Not Much”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2010

Looking for lodging in the East Glacier area of Glacier National Park is a challenge. East Glacier is not much of anything. There is the Glacier Park Lodge, one of the traditional railroad lodges. The alternative we found was Travelers Rest Lodge, a collection of cabins a little way outside of "town." It is owned by Diane and Bob Scalese, and the cabins are all just a couple of years old. Ours was just a year old. Bob did most of the work himself. Cabins were clean and very comfy, had a microwave and refrigerator. You're not that far from the Two Medicine entrance to the Park. The only drawback is that they are right near the railroad tracks, and freight trains come through at all hours of the day and night.
