“owners bad behavior”

Owner talked bad about employees that seened to be great. Owner conplained that she never had help and therefore had to do everything herself. Housekeeper was continuosly talked down to and talked bad about even though the housekeeper seemed to be the only one working. Owner needs to respect her employees and is in great need of psychological help. Every guest at that time felt very sorry for the people working for her.

The reviewer stated that they stayed at our lodge in May of 2006 and they wrote their review in April of 2007. I think they must have confused us with another inn. We were closed for renovations from October 2005 until June 9, 2006 and therefore had no
guests in May 2006. We value our employees and without them we would not be able to offer the service we do. Our employees are like family and we always treat them with respect and consideration. Should this person wish to speak to me I would be very happy to talk to her.

Beautiful lodge, fantastic service, great location overlooking the bay and Flathead Lake. The Sleeping Bear is just what I had hoped a Montana lodge to be. I was traveling alone on a business trip and selected this lodge after reading other reviews on TripAdvisor. It's all true. Cheryl, the owner, is incredibly accommodating and makes you feel like an honored guest in her home. She went out of her way for me and showed me around the town as if I were part of her family. Delightful woman. The lodge is plushly decorated and each of the 7 rooms is fabulously unique. I loved my room, the Secret Gulch, which had its own fireplace and extra areas for sitting or reading just off the first floor deck. The Bear's Den down the hall is a cozy lounge area where you can enjoy your morning coffee or curl up with a good book and toast your cold toes by the fire. I stayed here in low season (November) and had no trouble getting a room, but if you come during the summer, you'll want to book early to make sure you do. Highly recommended!

“Loved the Sleeping Bear!”

What a wonderful place! The rooms were beautifully decorated, well maintained, and interesting. A nice breakfast was provided. The location of the lodge is ideal: it is right in the center of Big Fork (a great town!) and walking distance to shopping, the lake, restaurants, etc. The staff was wonderful, very knowledgeable and very helpful.......I highly recommend this place and intend to go back. “Loved the Sleeping Bear Lodge”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2006

Absolutely adorable lodge - every room is fabulously decorated
in a theme; cowboy, cowgirls, fishing theme, indian, etc. We stayed in the Indian Spirit room which was a very large room, with a large well-appointed bathroom, lots of windows looking out at beautiful mountains, the river, as well as the lake. The owner was delightful, and always had coffee, delicious cinnamon rolls, and yummy snacks. The lodge is conveniently located (a couple of short blocks) to the quaint town filled with shops, restaurants and even a playhouse/theatre. Walking/hiking paths are close, as well as boating, fishing and much more. We would recommend this delightful lodge to anyone going to BigFork.

“Bigfork at it's best.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2006

Great place completely redone by new owner with western style theme rooms throughout. Rooms are large some with beautiful views of Flathead Lake. Short walk into downtown Bigfork and all it has to offer. Especially nice is the common room with fireplace and comfortable chairs for just relaxing. Large deck with views of the Lake for your early morning coffee or to watch the sunset over the lake.

Just fantastic and very relaxing. Dogs are welcome.
