“Clean rooms, great food, and incredible sunset.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2011

What a delightful space. The room was spotless. We stayed in the lovely suite Zanzibar. Had a wonderful sleep, after an incredible dinner across the street: I had the delicious blue cheese bacon burger, including hand cut REAL potato french fries, and my husband had pad thai.

Would recommend this spot for anyone on their way to Glacier or looking for a getaway in the Flathead Valley.

“Restful No, Funky Yes”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2011

If the band is playing and their bar across the street is hoping don't expect to sleep in peace and quiet until after closing time! Traffic noise is annoying also.

On the other hand the staff is helpful & friendly & the rooms are nice. The colors, the bar on the lake shore across the street and the general feel of the place IS a very good FUNKY if that's what you enjoy. We just wanted rest.

“Delightful Motel in Bigfork / Woods Bay”

Arriving into Bigfork late in the afternoon we first tried the two hotels on the main street - one had no staff present at all and the other was inappropriately expensive. We drove the 4 miles south to Woods Bay to The Islander Inn. The rooms are delightfully bright and spacious - lovely bed, bathroom and sink area. Although the road is pretty close we couldn't hear any traffic from our room. Across the road is The Raven - great food and great local beers. After a road trip through WA, MT and ID this was our favourite place to stay! Highly recommend a visit here.

“Serendipitous Haven; Night of a Lifetime”

On a month long road trip circling from Madison, WI to Malibu, CA we were heading to Glacier National Park in search of yet another breathtaking landscape and happened across Flathead Lake and spontaneously decided to reroute our travels. Scrolling through the last minute available accommodations on my smart phone we were fortunate enough to find one room available at an excellent rate and took a chance based on the available web photos. To our delight, the room was beautiful, clean and well decorated and situated across the street from the family owned restaurant/bar, The Raven. We were greeted at check-in with 2 open beers and drink coupons for their local renowned elixir "rum punch." While this getaway location may not offer turn-down service and valet parking, the low key atmosphere and emphasis on ultimate R&R provided the backdrop for one of the most memorable evenings of our entire month-long trip. The guest entertainment for the weekend (The Congress- band import from Colorado) was also so equally impressed with the Islander Inn that they extended their stay (to our delight) an additional night. The quality of their performance speaks to the musical savvy of the Islander Inn's owner who must have been a band/tour manager in another life. The personal attention, care, and investment of the owners (who incidentally shared a beer with us at sunset) not only at the Islander Inn but also in the quality of the service, food, and drinks at The Raven (don't miss out on the Yak Meatloaf Sandwich - seriously, it's brilliant) make the Islander Inn an experience that you will likely be reminiscing about the moment you pull out of the driveway.
