That's what we told ourselves when we booked for grad weekend at the Shamrock (now Knights Inn) in Kirksville. But even one night was too long!
First, the positive: rooms are large, and generally clean.
The bad: The included "breakfast" in the small, oddly furnished lobby is definitely something to skip. WiFi signal is weak, and internet was not hi-speed for us. Outlets are two prong only, so pack an adapter. Towels are like sandpaper and small. Furnishings are ancient, including the mattress.
The ugly: First room had no heat (it dropped to 35 degrees that night), and wall unit could not be fixed. Moved to a second room where the baseboard heaters certainly worked, however the thermostat did not! When the temp reached nearly 80 degrees, we had to open the doors to cool things off enough to get back to sleep. After doing this every hour a few times, we finally turned on the (very loud) AC and let it fight it out with the heater.
Overall, the place is run down and in disrepair. If you are like 99% of people and drive here from St. Louis or another nearby city, and need a decent night's sleep in order to make the drive home, this is NOT the place to get it. One night is one too many!!
