Being invited to Oppdal for 1 weekend, the expectations for a nice stay in this relatively large skiing resort were high. However, after this we were disappointed by the lack of enthusiasm and service mindedness the place was equipped and managed with. This is quite simply not an acceptable standard!
Our apartments were warm and clean, but moderately equipped to say the least. Uncomfortable (sleeping) sofas and chairs, thin mattresses, lack of china and other necessities in the kitchen, and generally the apartments seemed to have been made without any care for details or whatever could create an inviting feeling. A modern flat-screen TV doesn't justify the high cost we had to pay for this. Even toilet paper was not included, and had to be bought by ourselves at a super market in Oppdal. That's ridiculous!
Furthermore the receptionist found it too exhausting to meet us upon our arrival (around 7 p.m), and just left the keys on the counter for us to collect while relaxing in the next door room. As we a little later discovered that 1 of the apartments lacked 1 pillow and duvet, we asked for the staff to kindly bring 1 more set. Which caused a discussion where we had to justify why we wanted that... Honestly... The same number of people arrived as had been booked, so this should quite frankly not be a problem at all.
So, what saved our weekend in Oppdal was our good friendship and relationship, not the accommodation experience!
