My husband and I were coming home from visiting our daughter and son in law in Kansas and hadn't made any hotel arrangements between KS and our home in MD, because we had no idea how far we would get each day. We found this property listed in one of those discount hotel "books" you find at rest areas, and called to see if they had availability for the price listed in the discount book; they did.
Our experience at this hotel was wonderful from start to finish. The check in representative was absolutely friendly and accomodating, as I needed a handicapped accessible room, if available. After driving 425 miles that day, we were totally exhausted and so glad to have a very comfy bed to crash in and great a/c to keep us cool on a warm and muggy night.
We had a small problem with the room, that I mentioned only in passing to the manager in the morning, and he insisted on "comping" our breakfast which, while not expected, was very nice of him. Breakfast was not included in our room rate, since the room rate was already very discounted, so we would have had to pay for it ourselves. The breakfast was delicious, from the coffee to the wonderful custom made omelettes to the danish/pastries. The ladies working in the restaurant during breakfast were so polite and made sure our coffee cups were always filled and chatted with us everytime they filled our cups!! It was just the great breakfast we needed to psyche ourselves up to start driving over 500 miles THAT day!!
We have made another trip out to KS since then, but we had to make it much further through Missouri that day, or we would definitely have stayed at this property again.
