“Broken hot tub.....on our HONEYMOON!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2011

I made the reservation a week before and even called the day before to double check our reservation. Not once did anyone mention that there was problems with the hot tub. It was not until we checked in (and had already paid) that we were informed....Oh by the way, our hot tub has been on the fritz for a few weeks and is not working tonite.......REALLY! Couldn't someone have told me this a week ago so I could make reservations ELSEWHERE for this first nite stay on our honeymoon trip! I will never go back to this hotel considering this dishonest business practice!

Side note, the pool is VERY small and the slide as well. It didn't look like any place my childern would enjoy!

“Too expensive- Clean but a $65-$70 Room”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2010

I stay in a hotel 200 nights a year. I stayed at a Double Tree last night for the same rate as here... not quite the same- not even close. Clean rooms but old. It was late and called and thought well.. $87 must be a nice one. Showed up- not so much. . Going south go to Hampton in N. KC. Going north- try to make it to DSM.

“Not Kid Friendly”

We recently stayed at the Cameron Comfort Inn. I booked an extra night, planning for the kids to play on the slide and I could relax. After check-in I found out the slide hours are VERY LIMITED!!! Then when we went to use the slide we were approached by the "Barney Feif, Slide Patrol", I was immediately informed (before my kids even entered the slide) that the slide was intended for adults, if my kids played on the slide and they were hurt that was "On me, Not them" and that since they had informed me on all the rules the responsibility was "On ME". After 15 minutes the slide patrol went on lunch break, and locked up the slide. We waited over an hour and they never returned, so we went back to our room. Very minimal cable service, no cartoon network or any channels that kids would enjoy.
We will not return!!!

“Room stunk”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2009

We started staying at this hotel about four or five years ago for our annual trip to Minnesota to see family. The first time we stayed there the room must have just been renovated. It smelled good, the bathroom fan worked, and the safe had a key for the lock. With each subsequent year the motel has gotten worse. This last August was the final time for us. We are never going back. We have a dog, and I swear the room we stayed in smelled so badly of urine it was as if every dog that ever had stayed in there wasn't housebroken. We would have left, but it was very late and we were exhausted. The side entrance where you use your key card didn't work, and had to be propped open with a hall rug if you didn't want to go back through the front entrance. Not very safe! It made me very uncomfortable when I saw that door propped open late that night when I took my housebroken dog outside. The carpet was so worn by the door (besides being a complete health hazard because of the urine) I don't know why it hadn't been replaced long ago. The bathroom fan didn't work, and in fact none of the rooms we stayed had either a working fan or a safe with a key for the lock after the initial stay after the first year. The breakfast was good. They offered a variety of things. We didn't use the pool.

“Enjoyable Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2009

Hotel has nice soft bed and pillows, good breakfast, and enjoyable indoor heated pool area. Wireless Internet was fairly zippy. Hotel is right off interstate and easy to find. There are a few restaurants nearby. Would highly recommend
