“Made me look foward to going home”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2007

What a disaster!!!! During a recent ice storm we were forced to take refuge in a hotel to escape from the cold. The previous night, we stayed in another Choice-brand hotel, and the difference between the two locations was night and day. The carpets were in deperate need of cleaning. The walls had stains and writing on them (such as "for a good time call...") The ceiling was leaky and there were water puddles all over the floor, a SAFETY HAZARD considering that this was in the pool area!!! The breakfast area had limited seating and trash strewn everywhere. At check-in the clerk on duty allowed the phone to ring without answering it. I observed this several times during my visit, as I was in the lobby for extended periods using the internet. Later we attempted to contact the front desk for extra towels (less than one full set was available in our room), and not surprisingly our call went unanswered. The staff seemed to have an air of apathy and disdain; they really did not seem to care about the sub-par condition of the hotel, nor did they appreciate the extra business the bad weather was providing. There were large mold spots on the bathroom in our room, and the fixtures were worn and beat-up. Although high speed internet access was listed as a room feature, we found that the only place with a decent connection was the lobby. The baby pool was filthy, with large amounts of dirt and cigarrettes floating in it. We also saw a guest smoking in the regular pool. Early in the evening we heard loud female voices outside our room and some beat on our door. I made a comment to my husband about having loud teenagers as neighbors, but to my amazement he said he saw them through the window and they were the HOUSEKEEPERS!!! Such behavior is highly unprofessional. This place only had one thing going for it...the power was on (which is why we had to leave our first hotel). Were it not for that, I would not have stayed here in a million years. I will not return to this location, ever. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!!!

  • Liked — Clean sheets on the beds, it was heated and had electricity
  • Disliked — Poor service, poor housekeeping, too many maintenance issues to state here.
  • Tips/Secrets — Don't go here!!!!

“Not even if it were free”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2006

We have been staying in local hotels for a month while our home was having major work done, the econo lodge was the third hotel we stayed at and the absolute worst by far. Not only was it filthy, but it was incredibly loud. People were swimming in the pool at 1 am, playing pool and video games until 3 am, walking the halls, drinking outside thier rooms until very early in the morning. We stayed here 4 days and it was like this every night. The free continental breakfast consisted of one make-your-own- waffle machine and a loaf of bread and a toaster, no cream for the coffee, the juice tasted like tang, there was a line there every day so you could not even use the waffle maker, hadly any tables to sit at there were not covered with trash, trash was littered through the hotel- in the evelator which reeked of motor oil, on the couches in the lounge areas, all over. guests would be outside the hotel talking on thier cells from early in the morning until late at night, the hotel advertised a restaurant which was no longer in business, the indoor poor was dirty and filled with food, the water was freezing, the hot tub was not hot. All in all it was seriously bad. When I went to check out, i stood at the desk for 20 minutes while the phone rang on and on and no one ever came. The rate was about 50 dollars for a double but you would have to pay me to stay here again.
