Just returned from a weekend trip and had a great time. This was our 4th or 5th trip there. I'd definitely reccomend the Golden Moon to stay. Was a little leary when we arrived for check in right at 3Pm (as the Golden Moon doesn't open until 3 on Friday). There were probalby 20 people in line, but they had 4 clerks working and we were through in 15 minutes or less. The rooms are very nice except for the strange bench along the entire wall with a table pulled up to it. No place for the 2nd person to sit and eat without pulling the chair up from the desk. Had a problem with the in room safe and someone from security was there within 5 mins to fix the problem. The slot attendants were very friendly. Even came up to me as I was waiting at a change machine and offered to make my change so I did not have to wait in line. The attendant also told me if I needed anything while playing at the machines, to just push the red button and someone would be dispatched within 1 minute to help. I tried it twice and someone was there within a matter of minutes. The cocktail waitresses also came by frequently. The food at the bufffet has improved slightly since the renovation, but would still recommend the Villa. Saw the manager walking around to the tables to make sure everything was fine. When I commented that my steak was not properly cooked, he personally took it back to have it cooked a little more. I know, some would say that was not such a good idea, but the steak come back perfectly cooked. The chef even came by our table later to apologize. I didn't have any luck at the slot machines, but my husband did so overall we ended up breaking about even with gambling money, stayed in a comp room and had comp meals. I don't consider us to be high rollers, so I consider these great comps. Give it a try. We'll be going back.

I take a group there four to five times a year and as usual we are greeted with a warm welcome and our rooms are the best. Everyone have a great time and managed to take home winnings from the casino. During our visits we had one $20,000 winner, and two people in our group won the slot tournament. Personally, I recommend Pearl River and people just have to realized that they cannont win everytime you go, and if you are that much of a sore loser then maybe you should not go to any casinos. We never stay at any of the hotels outside of the casino, so our stay there is wonderful.

We were regulars of Pearl River back in 2003 thru 2006. We loved to spend 4 or 5 days there numerous times during the year, and we always had a good time. The comps were great, the employees were pleasant and seemed to like their jobs, and we would love seeing the "regulars" on each visit. We had favorite dealers, pit bosses and servers that we would look forward to seeing. The food was great, also. On the weekends the casinos were crowded, the bands played and everyone seemed to have a good time.
That was then, but this is now, and NOW is not so great!!! Actually there is nothing to praise about at all anymore..... The whole place has gone downhill so badly that we don't even go there anymore. Just read the other reviews on here, and you will see that it is a mutual opinion.
The machines are so tight that you can't have any fun at all. The employees seem to hate their jobs now, and the moral is terrible. Even though my husband and I had advance to the higher player status, we came there on a visit in 2007 or 2008 and they had started a new players program and everyone started back with the lowest card. So much for appreciating their loyal players.
Then they only open the Golden Moon on the weekends, which really showed that they don't care about their patrons, and that really did it for us.
Pearl River was our most favorite casino destination, but now we don't waste our time going there. If you can't have any fun anymore, why even bother. It is clear that the owners are trying to run the casino into the ground, and I feel that they are going to succeed in the very near future.

Our stay in the hotel was average, but our visit to the casinos was disappointing. We were there for a slot tournament. Registration was to be on Fri. 5pm-7pm. My husband, and several other couples to whom we spoke, missed work to get there by the posted time. Play was to begin on Sat. at 2pm. They were still registering people at 3:30pm on Sat. No one could tell us when the tournament would be complete or when results would be in. Although I'd gotten a decent score, we had other commitments & could not stay an indeterminate amount of time. That was a disaster. Other than that, many service people were indifferent to guests, some down-right rude. Many acted as if they were doing you a favor to do their jobs. If they don't want to pleasantly be of service to guests, they should move on. Food, also, was below par.
