We used to visit the resort quite often. We stopped going when they changed their player's reward program two or three years ago.....the comps became non-existent unless you were a high limit player, so we took our play elsewhere.

My wife and I were in the area this past weekend (January 21, 2012) so we decided to get a room, stay the night and give them another chance.

What a difference two or three years makes! The whole resort has aged, with what appears to be very little maintenance.

There are a few slot machines in the Golden Moon and that is it, except for a few restaurants and the hotel. I understand it is only open on the weekends now. We stayed in a King room in the Golden Moon, which was just average, and a very long walk to the Silver Star to play.

The Silver Star has really gone down hill. Very poorly maintained. What is that smell?

Also, in the past, the dealers and pit supervisors were very warm and friendly. Now, it seems almost all of them don't want to be there.

And the player's reward program.....I lost $1,070 playing Blackjack and was told by a host (with a smile) that they couldn't comp my $99 room because I didn't have enough play. Go figure.

Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, but I will never lose at the Silver Star or Golden Moon again.

In my opinion, this would be a bottom tier casino in the Gulf Coast or Tunica areas.

Your Staff is the best. They go out of the their way to make sure my family has a good time. Thats one of the reason why we go 3 tmes a year.My wife and I win more money at Aunt Pearls house than any other Casinos we visit !!! It might be alittle pack on the weedends, but we have so much fun. We always stay 4 nights and hate to leave this Casino,to go home. So here we come Aunt Pearl. We will see you on (Nov, 11th 2011).

Out of all of the casinos in the USA, this is our favorite. We just love going there. We always have so much fun. Plus our gambling money lasts much longer. My husband has won more money there than all the other casinos combined!

The seafood on the weekends is delicious. The beds are super comfortable and our friends love the golf course.

Highly recommend. Especially for seniors!

The Silver Star Casino is so packed on weekends since they closed the Golden Moon Casino you can't get on a machine or play at a table half the time. Then they put you in the Golden Moon Hotel leaving you to walk a great distance to your hotel and room. The rooms are not that nice and well worn. If you go on a weekday and get a room at Silver Star the rooms are a dump. They are definately not spending money on keeping their rooms repaired.
I've been going there many years and it just keeps getting worse. So many people come in and sit at machines and watch you play. I am there for my entertainment and not to provide entertainment for the people who come in on buses and spend $ 20 dollars - get a free meal - then sit for 4 hours waiting for the bus to leave.
The buffet is just awful. Friday and Sat. nights are seafood nights at double the regular price. Almost most half of the bins are filled with a very pour quality shrimp. I can't say anything good about the service anywhere. They know they are the only game in town and since they closed up places in Alabama, Pearl River knows there is no place else to go and good service in not required.
The self service soft drink areas in the casino are always out of ice and most of the time the soda is flat with no carbonation.
In the old days you could see other hit jackpots on the machines all the time even if you didn't. You don't see that today. I say just skip it.
