I was part of a group of 20 who stayed at HGI on a golfing trip this past July. It is a new hotel and our room was clean and very roomy. We got the Bed and Breakfast Rate so the fully cooked breakfast was part of our package. I enjoyed the breakfast and our stay was very good at HGI.

I stayed here as part of a block of rooms for a local wedding. This hotel is very accessible to I-55. The area is very upscale with a Kroger, Home Depot, Bonefish Grille, and CVS close by. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. I sent something from my room to print in the business center, a complimentary service, and when I got to the center, the printer was not working. I inquired at the front desk, and the lady had great customer service. She apologized and offered to let me print from her computer at the desk. I was able to do that. I found it very accommodating that she offered an alternative solution. We asked for adjoining rooms, which was very helpful. It was puzzling that one of our rooms was cleaned, and one was not cleaned during our stay - even though the adjoining doors were open. For our adjoining rooms, one had a king bed and the other had 2 queen beds. The queen beds were somewhat dated innerspring mattresses. The king bed was a modern comfort level bed. Their wireless service was complimentary and had very strong access with good speed. The water pressure is good, although the water is very soft. Towels and linens were just okay, but acceptable. One note - the person in the room next to me (not the adjoining room, but the other side) took a shower at midnight. It was so loud I got out of bed to see what water was running in my bathroom. It lasted almost 1/2 hour; I was about to call the front desk when it finally stopped. It was distruptive to sleep. Nice TV, nice alarm clock, room was in good condition, clean and working. Hair dryer was small and didn't have much power - found it in the closet. Common areas were clean and well-kept. Breakfast "buffet" was not a buffet; it was behind a glass divider with 1 server and a long line. The same server is serving the prepared food (bacon, eggs, sausage, potatoes, biscuits) and also prepared custom omelets, pancakes, etc. The area was small and not designed well. The buffet is $9.95/person. The food was good, but they need to rethink or resdeisign the breakfast area. You were discouraged from going back for more food because of the wait. Everyone was grumbling about it. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay.

If you are ever in the Jackson, MS area this should be your first choice in hotels. I have stayed here a number of times and always have an exemplary experience. Staff are attentive, enthusiastic, and helpful. In addition to the on-site restaurant, there are several good chains and local family-owned restaurants in easy walking distance acrosss the boardwalk over the adjacent decorative pond. Even though the hotel is off of a major interchange of Interstate 55 the location is very quiet and relaxing at night. Easy access to the interstate and a short drive to downtown and other business locations in the Jackson area.
