Value. This hotel is relatively inexpensive. However, it still isn't worth it. It would need to have prices in the Motel 6/Super 8/Red Roof Inn range to have value.
Rooms. The room was a typical size and decor for a mid-tier hotel. It felt old, but nothing I saw was visibly worn-down. We couldn't connect to wireless internet, but I'm not sure the hotel even offers it. I don't remember seeing that when I booked it. This room did not have a safe, refrigerator or microwave. Other than lack of internet, there was nothing technically wrong with it, but I wouldn't want to stay there again.
Location. Other than a couple of fast food places, there is nothing but a residential neighborhood in walking distance of the hotel, i.e. assuming you don't want to walk across I-55. There aren't really any attractions nearby either. I booked it because my mom wanted a hotel near a friend who lives in north Jackson. It is convenient if you need a place to stay while traveling along I-55.
Cleanliness. This was the big problem I had. First, the hallways especially on the second floor smelled like they had been suffused with musty cigarette smoke as did the room even though we booked a non-smoking room and were told that that room was a non-smoking room. Second, the stairwell I took was pretty dirty. It had old books and fast food restaurant refuse. On the first floor it looked like a dumping area.
Service. In general, service was OK. The front desk clerk was a bit short with us and distracted. I think this was because she was also watching a small child at whom she would periodically yell. In general, I think she meant well, but we did not catch her on her best day.
Sleep Quality. The beds were OK and there is some ambient noise from a nearby fast food restaurant. Plus, you are right alongside a busy highway. I slept OK, but I can sleep through most anything. My mom did not sleep well.
The next time my mom visited her one request was not to stay at that hotel again. I was already ahead of her. I wouldn't stay there much less have my mom stay there. I couldn't recommend this hotel to most travelers. If you're just looking for a bed, maybe this is the place for you. However, there is a Red Roof Inn about a mile north of the BW North Jackson where you can get just a bed and dicey cleanliness for about $20 less per night.
