You know that saying - on the wrong side of the tracks? This hotel embodies that phrase. It is otherwise a great hotel, with awesome staff, great free breakfast (waffles, bacon, eggs, cereal, oatmeal, coffee, juice, etc), and great rooms. However, as a single female, I would not want to venture outside of the hotel grounds. My business trip took me to Jackson, and the meeting was to take place a mere 6 blocks away - easy walking distance. However, I was told my numerous people to take a cab, and I am glad I did. The hotel staff have cab numbers on hand to call, with cabs coming in around 10-15 minutes after a call is made.

Other than the location outside of the hotel, the hotel itself was great.

I think this is a great place to stay. I was in town on business in the downtown area and a friend recommended me to try the hotel. It is a jewel in the revitalazatiion efforts in downtown jackson. The rooms are spacious and relexing and the staff is outstanding they go above and beyound for you. The breakfast is the greatest and its free. I am on the road a lot and my hotel room usual is my office, I had a room with a living area and desk with enough space to work. Each day I came home to lemonade and cookies and Jazz playing in the lobby it gives you the feel of a full service hotel. They also had an evening receiption when they are full I was able to enjoy it. Linda Kay and Brenda, and Cory are the greatest!!!

I stayed at this hotel during a trip to Jackson for business. The hotel itself is nice, clean and new, but the location is a few blocks from downtown and is an awful part of town. I was informed a few days later by an employee at the mall in Ridgeland that the part of town I was staying in was the "hood". She also told me that next time I should stay in North Jackson near Ridgeland or Flowood. I will take her advice and will not be back to this part of Jackson. I suggest that unless you need to be near downtown to do the same. Travelers should know that Jackson overall not a very safe place, so take that advice into account when making travel arrangements, especially if you are a single female or have children.

My Family and I stayed at this Sleep Inn & Suites Downtown just a couple of days ago. (9-2-11 thru 9-5-11) We have nothing but good memories about our Labor Day weekend! The entire staff (from the Hotel Manager even to the Security Guard on duty) was very professional, accomodating, and most of all, very kind to us. This hotel staff will make you feel so welcome from the very first time you enter their doors. No need to wonder about breakfast because there's a wonderful breakfast buffet every morning. You would be mistaken to judge this hotel by the location because the location doesn't do the hotel justice. Don't take my word for it, just go there and experience it for yourself and at the end of your stay like us, you won't be ready to leave! Over the years we've been to many hotels in Jackson, MS and we've dealt with many good staffs but so far we can truly say that, this is "Jackson's Finest!"
