My husband and I stayed at the Sassafras in June of this year for nearly a week, and would move in with Eric if we could. He's a wonderful host and the home is beautiful. It's in a great area, about 20 minutes max from Memphis which is perfect for site seeing. We went out every day, spent the day in the city, then returned home to a comfortable bed and a dip in the pool. Eric was kind enough to pipe a variety of music out for us while we swam, and is a talented musician with plenty of advice on where to find some great music in Memphis. The breakfast is beyond outstanding, we left every day stuffed and didn't need to worry about lunch until late in the afternoon. The house is quiet, private, and secure, and there are plenty of music choices in each bedroom (each has a CD player) as well as a library of movies. There is no better place to stay near Memphis, we will be back!

My wife and I just stayed with Eric in his lovely B&B for three nights over the Labor day weekend. This is a lovely, unassuming place, just looks like a nice country home as you drive up. The amenities are above average with an indoor pool/hot tub, and a billiards/home theater room. I've never seen a host as personally involved as Eric. The home is lovely, exceptionally clean, well appointed, (you will really need nothing except clothing. There is plenty to read, movies to watch, music to listen to. Eric even provided us with umbrellas one rainy day!! ) I have no words to further describe how much I recommend this B&B. I feel I still haven't done it justice. The only thing I would recommend is a varied breakfast menu for patrons who stay extended days. However, breakfast was very good.

Eric is a wonderful and pleasant host, and we were very pleased as this was our first experience at a B&B. We picked it because it was close to Memphis and I will say this, every single picture on his website is accurate, which is a good thing. We booked the cottage for one night and were shocked at how many drinks were in the fridge for us and how cozy the room was... it was perfect and just what we needed. The pool is wonderful and so is the hot tub, and the cottage is the ultimate romantic get-a-way spot. Eric delivered breakfast to the cottage door and there is a dining room table in there for two. I loved it but think the price for the cottage is a little steep compared to prices in Arkansas. It was a great first experience though.

We had a great stay at this wonderful bed and breakfast. The inn's location is perfect - peaceful, safe and relaxing - and yet only 20 minutes from the attractions of Memphis. Although the Mississippi was flooding during our stay, the inn is not near the river and so was totally unaffected. Eric derserves 6 stars for his thoughtful hospitality! A great place to stay, and the 2 nights for 1 offer makes it exceptional value.
